So who do we think will win the World cup?
I fancy England's chances to progress to the Quarter Finals but can't see them winning it. I do think that a European team will win it though. Spain would be the obvious candidates. Looking forward to some of the games though where it could turn out to be real needle matches, Portugal v Brazil being the stand-out tie.

I had high hopes for Argentina, but as long as Maradona is head coach, I give them very little chance of even making it past the round robin. He's was the best player in his time, but he has no managerial skills and far less common sense.

The Netherlands will probably get to the quarter finals ;). Since they are in an easy group.
If they go to the semi-finals they will face either brazil or spain I guess, and they will win that too!
And then ofc the finals aswell ;)

Therefore, I choose The Netherlands xD

i really think spain can do it this...though i personally will be supporting many teams..but as a team spain is lukin the best at the moment if all its players stay fit.....

Easy group? Cameroon, Japan and Denmark! I think you might struggle to top the group even if I believe Holland will progress.
I think it is a shame that SA got such a bad draw as they will likely go out in the group stage and the tournament goes a bit flat when the host gets booted.
Argentina have a tough group and may also struggle to get out of the group - might come down to goal difference there.

i have high hopes for England. They have been doing very well in the friendly matches (even with the big teams)

but teams i think that have a big chance:

Brazil (obviously)
Spain
Portugal
and England

Which nations? We lost to Brazil, Spain and France in friendlies and drew with Holland. I admit that these were by odd goals but I am worried that England will be hyped as per usual and flatter to deceive. We need a decent keeper and a "fox in the box" to knock the goals in IMO.

Dont worry. I dont expect them to even score a single goal.

But with my limited interest in soccer (to the extend that I live in the host nation and would not go see a match even if given tickets) my prediction would be for a Brazil victory.

FOOTBALL. Not soccer. It's a british sport for the most part.
One thing that annoys me to no end, people calling football soccer:mad:

Especially to suggest that North Korea would beat out Portugal and Cote d'Ivoire!

I have to say that when people call football soccer is an insult to the British game. And i would say that England should do good this year they have loads of good players and they will come out on top if you know what i mean.

I usually think that if you do not support your team they usually lose and when your team is loosing then you get behind your team and then they usually win.

ENGLAND!!!! all the way. I hate miserable supporters. :)

I believe Brazil will win this year. They are amazing football players. And also because my current girlfriend (who I probably will dump by the end of the year) makes me support Brazil. Im not a big football guy so idc really.

I go for Italy (GO ITALY!!!!!) but they haven't been doing too well. If they lose, I go for either England or Spain. I seriously can't stand Brazil cause they're showoffs nor France cause they're sore losers most of the time. So, yeah, I go for Italy!

yeah, my call on Korea is based on their scheduled contests, in that Korea is notorious for physically beating the crap out of their opponents, and Portugal and Cote are going to be going against Korea early, which gives me the feeling Portugal and Cote will lose their better players to injury, causing them to lose, and hurting them for all following round robin competitions.

Anyway, writing it up was fun and I'm going to enjoy seeing how right/wrong I am. :)

And as I said earlier, I support Brazil cause of my girlfriend hahaha!!!
