Phillip's crosshairs followed the advancing socialists. Any minute now they would stop. The Irishmen after all had noticed them and were watching them. In the next few minutes, Phillip was pretty sure he'd pull the trigger. He couldn't wait.

Dennis and Alistair were at the Church's main entrance with the Maxim gun. Alistair being spotter and reloader was warily monitoring the outside through some gaps in the boards and debris thrown up against the doors and windows. Dennis on the other hand was looking around the church. It was a tidy building with two stories with a spindly steeple that shot up another three stories from the rest of the building. The interior was of a drab stone, the building was a relic from midieval times, but in the last century there had been several wooden expansions. The effect on the building's interior was a dark and drab appearence, well except for some stained glass windows whose lower parts were barricaded. Taking in the scene he asked Alistair, "Do you think it is right that we should spill blood on this hallowed ground." He knew that the frontal approach to the church that the Maxim Gun faced contained a statue of Saint Wilfrith. In the rear on the sides and rear however there was a small cemetery that encircled the church's rear quarter. The entire structure and the cemetery were surrounded by a spear top fence with a solid concrete base. Father Fulton said he specifically chose this location because it would be impossible to attack it without storming the locked front gate or blowing up one of the other sections. There was also the choice of mounting the fence but doing so would make anyone an excellent target. Alistair replied, "Aye, it is a shame that such acts of sin will be comitted here. But, it is for the right cause." "Will god see it that way?" "Dennis only the lord knows that."

Jim Relis and Ron Davis were assigned to assist the two marksmen on the second floor and Phillip in the steeple. They were both new recruits while the other three men on the upper stories were veterans of the Great War. After spending time in the trenches those men were not only grizzled veterans but also starved of luxuries. When presented with Jim and Ron they turned the pair effectively into servants. In a moment of respite the two met at a second story pew overlooking the main hall. "Jim you know what that bloody Hotmayer had me do?" "What?" "He said, I've been sit'in here for a while and now I gotta ta go to the John. And I say fine. Well he tells me to finds a bucket and I does that. I bring it to'im and he tells me to hold it under his hind quarter. Then he tells me to stay still while he drops his trousers n' drops his stool in the pail. It was grody to say the least. Bloody awful!" "Aye those chaps are a bunch'a bugbears if you ask me. I swear if we get out of this Church I'll give'em a good wallop'in." "I wish." Doley suddenly hissed out, "Hey yous. Shut yours traps and get over here Ronny there's a bug fly'in round here and I'll wallop ya if'en you don't kill it." "See-" "Get over here boy." "Aye."

Brody, John, and Robert were patrolling the lower floors. As Major Fulton passed Brody stopped to talk to him. "Father do you know what I was before the war?" "Major-" "Yes, yes Major what do you think I was?" "Which war." "The Great War." "I'm not sure what did you do." "Well you see these guns John, Robert, and I have?" "Yes, they're Martini-Henrys the main gun of our military before the Great War." "It's an amazing gun, y'see the way we obtained them was because we use to be guides in Africa's interior." "Really?" "Yes sir, I myself have killed ten lions with this gun and many other strange creatures of the interior." "That's interesting. How did you end up coming back?" "I joined up with the army and fought against the germans in Namibia thats where I met John and Robert. After the war we felt like returning to the home country to see what she looked like. Turns out we found some other shes too and me and the boys went and got ourselves married. Unfortunately when the civil war broke out we were caught in the way of the advancing Soviet. Our families fled but we got caught in a bottleneck and soviet warplanes started strafing it. John is the only one who still has his wife..." "I'm sorry and that's why you joined the military?" "Yes, I was originally in the Georgian military before being transferred. I managed to get the rest of the boys with me. We promised each other the Soviets would feel the pain we feel." "Remeber, you should avoid letting veangence-" "Become our driving force? Yes, it is a terrible thing. But, in Namibia we did some awful things. We are resigned to our fate and will make sure the Soviets get their final reward as soon as possible."

While jack was in his office, there was a knock on the office's door. "Come in" said jack while reading some papers. A young boy about 18 or 19 came in, " Sir, I got a message for you from the headquarters" " finally after waiting for centuries they reply back". ( reading the paper) " good...good....good...What! NO! they send me the packages except for the reinforcements? What Em I going to do with the packages and 100men then?Ahh!( he hits the table with fists closed, then calming down)ok ok, where are the packages right now?", " Sir they are outside". " I bet you they didn't send me the full equipment either" ( following the messenger to the packages.
Jack went under the pouring rain and said, "what the? I ordered five crates and now I am looking at eight. well this is surprising, they don't always send me full packages and now they send me more then I wanted. Lets take a look, ( opened the first crate) uniforms! good!( opened the second crate) sabers! very good!( opened the third crate) horse equipment, I always lack those things!( fourth crate) ammo for rifles good..(opened the fifth crate) And rifles, this is a good day! I got all i need."

( Looking at the last three crates and thinking to him self) what could these crates have in them? Did they come here on accident or did the HG( headquarters) send them here on purpose? I don't want to open them and I cant send them back either. Well I'll just open them and take the goods.

" Let's see what these bad boys got in them, ( slowly opening the first crate) artillery ammo??!?!?!( getting happy and out of control) Yes! Lets see what those two got in them!( opened the second crate) One Artillery! Ahh!! this is a good day! but what does this one has in it?( looking at the guards) would you good sirs like to take the pleasure and open the third one?( guards looking at each other) Ehh never mind, Ill do it myself( opened the third crate) dynamite? hmm...those can be very useful, Ill go and divide this equipment to the men and save the rest( talking to the guards) the drinks are on me boys, we are going to party all day!

(OOC: Artillery in a crate?!)

The four of the scurried across the open ground rapidly Bill and Barry had served in the international brigade in Spain and could still remember the seige of Madrid and what it took to survive. A church tower loomed over the village green to watch teh street in which they stood making Bill nervous "Barry I want you to keep an eye on that Church tower while I go talk to our republican friends" he said handing his rifle to one of his other men after all nothing said I want to talk please don't shoot me more than going unarmed.
With his comrades lurking behind a low wall Bill approached the Irishmen, their bright orange helmets gleaming in the early moring sun "Comrades I wish to talk with you? is there an officer present?" He called across to them, his heart pounding like a jackhammer. They were better armed than the men in his squad perhaps they could make a trade. Bill watched as one of the men on sentry duty ran inside Bill hoped it was so he could find an officer and not in order to take a better firing position.

(OOC: Sorry for the lack of detail but I have to write this again quickly due to my computer crashing) Ben saw the welsh freedom army approach and they surrendered. After a chat with the commander they had joined it. Ben had never liked the Edwardian army after having been conscripted and neither had the other lads. They were sent to help the Irish take a town from the Anglicans and they were only a day and a half march from the town. They left a unit of twenty men to build proper defences and left. They swapped their Edwardian uniforms for ones of the Freedom Army. Commander Smith (The commander of the army Battalion) kept their uniforms saying he had something in mind with them (OOC: I actually do. Keep them in mind as they will appear later). They marched the rest of that day and made camp that night with the town in sight. (OOC: braetwalda I will join up with you now.)

(OOC: Artillery in a crate?!)
(just one man!)

( At a meeting in his barracks) "ok men, we just got new equipment from HQ, we got some dynamites and one artillery. Each of us from now on will carry three dynamites with him as a back up weapon, and the artillery will stay in the base for defense in case we get attacked. does anyone know how to use a dynamite? ( some soldier from the back yelled out)" sir, all you have to do is light the thing up and throw it at the enemy."
" thats correct, light the fuse and throw it at the enemy, dismissed!"

"There's whisk..." Shamus hit his brother on the back of the head. "Be quiet," he ordered. "There might be enemies about, and singing distracts you from watching." Andrew reddened in embarrassment. The place was quiet, and singing came naturally to him in a time like this. "Sorry brother, I won't let it happen again." Shamus nodded, and moved on to the upstairs of the pub, where he, Sinead, and James were making a temporary holdout, until they could move on. The plan was modified to an hour, Shamus couldn't let the men march tired, after their late night march.

"Sir, we've made contact, they're not professional soldiers." William said, after bursting into the room. “I think I saw one of them with red armbands. Maybe communists. But they could be Anglicans. They want to talk to you. Permission to take them prisoner?” Shamus considered the idea for a moment, then decided against it. “No, I’ll talk to them. William, get Connor and send him out with me, Sinead, come with me too. Keep your Webleys out, and be ready for a fight.” Shamus opened his Webley, verified that all chambers were loaded, and headed down the stairs. “Harry, Ronald, I want you two to point your machine gun at the newcomers. Don’t fire until we do. Everybody else, keep a watch for more soldiers. Especially you, James. If you were trying to snipe at us, where would you hide? Watch there.” With everything ready, Shamus, Sinead, and Connor walked out to meet the person.

There was one standing down the road a bit, about a half minute walk. Shamus kept watch on the man, while Sinead and Connor looked for more. “Two more behind a wall, sir,” Connor said. “With one more eyeing the church tower.” Shamus nodded, and reached the man. “I hear you are looking to speak with this group’s officer,” Shamus began. “I am Shamus O’Leary, soldier of the Irish Republican Army, sent here to help our oppressed brothers in the other nations, subjugated by the dreaded English. What purpose do you have with us?”

While the Irish officer was walking over to William, Joseph, Callum, and Thomas were hiding behind a building with rifles pointed at the Irish men: " Ok, here he comes, the Irish man, just get close enough and I'll pop your brains out for good...." Joseph said with a smile at the end." NO! hold on ya fool!(Thomas screamed with a panic) we don't want to do anything stupid and get our men killed, and one more thing, we were not assigned to attack the Irish, we were assigned to back William's men in case things go wrong."
" Well, I don't see any difference in popping his brains right now, they are going to fire at us anyways after they finish talking."( Thomas looking at Joseph in the eyes) "we don't know that for sure, what if they didn't fire at us hmm? "
"yes they will"
" no they won't"
"yes"
"no"
"Shut up you too!!, now focus on there!! ( Callum yelled pointing at the Irish) Keep your eyes open, and save your energy this might not go well"

Bill watched as one of the Irishmen left the pub, movement behind the windows told him that he was being watched, he just hoped that the others had noticed this also. "My name is Bill Gerrard of the Red Field Army, I am here to propose a temporary alliance between us... my comrades hold the railway station and between us we could defeat the Fascists and Imperialists plaguing this village" he called over to the man not daring to approach him lest it was construed as an act of aggression.
He stood in the middle of the street patiently as he waited for the man to reply. He wanted to get back to the relative safety of the station and begin the task of cutting the villages phone lines.

They moved in on the village (OOC: Who is holding the church at this point?) and Ben was sent in first to announce the Irish of their arrival. They walked up the the gates protected by snipers. If it was safe and the town was in Irish hands they were to do Three Star jumps. If it wasn't they would die.

The three cavalry having a chat:
" The Irish is not talking."( Callum said with a huge curiosity)
" Maybe He's waiting for something?"( Joseph said in big excitement)
" well, what ever happens in the next few minutes I..( caught sight of the welsh army) what the? why are they here?( thomas was confused)
" well well...they are here to save me! I well finally get a chance to pop those Irish brains out!"
" no you wont Joseph"
"Yes I Will Thomas"
" ahh why did I get assigned to go with you too,you act like kids all the time. what ever happens we will report back"
" All right grandpa"( said Thomas with a laughter)

Shamus listened to the man, a confirmed communist. Shamus had nothing against teh communists, they too felt oppressed, though communism was a new thing, barely 50 years old if the math was right. But still, oppression is oppression. "An alliance, eh?" Shamus pondered for the next few moments. "I agree. An alliance is good between our oppressed groups. We shall defeat the oppressors together." Shamus holstered his Webley, walked over to Bill, and offered his hand to shake. "And the annoying chatterboxes behind the wall can come out now. You're not very good at hiding. Come to Belfast for a season, and we'll teach you about sneaking."

Phillip breathed deeply. The two groups were coming together. Before considering which man to land a shot in he panned the area around the two men meeting in the street. He saw it the glint of a gun barrel. And then he noticed one of the Communists was monitoring the tower. He had no doubt. They were zeroed in on the Church steeple. There would be countersniper fire as soons as he fired his first shot. He brough his crosshairs back on the pair. No, he had to get rid of one of the countersnipers. If he fired now both sides might realize his presence. The crosshairs fell back on the socialist. He had a shoddy uniform and was clearly experienced as his posture seemed to indicate he had been shot at before. But, the man didn't know there was a sniper. Could he fire though. The Irish didn't have a direct line of fire on the man. Maybe tensions were high though. He took a couple deep breaths then fired. He reflexively dived and fell to the ground nearly falling down the steeple. He was in cover though and as he dove the other countersniper fired. Phillip was unhurt. He waited for it, would the Irish and the Commies kill each other?

" looks like we have been spotted by the Irish" ( Callum said while looking at the other too)
the firing started
" aww I love these noises!, It's coming from the church! men, FIRE AT WILL! shoot everything you see in their!"( Joseph yelled)
"I will go report back to Jack, stay safe!"( then rode off)
" I thought the church was a nice place?!?!?!"( Joseph said to Callum)
"Not today my friend, not today"
" that's a darn good building to hide in."
" yah, they can snipe from the top part, and shoot us from the bottom"
" I hope jack come here on time, to get in action cause he loves shooting enemies. it's like a game to him."

Phillip managed to relay a message through Jim to Major Fulton. The boy quickly found the man who was attempting to see if anyone was approaching the church now that shots had been fired.

"Fath- Major Fulton! Phillip reports that he was able to fire one shot at a Communist countersniper and managed to avoid another one. He's not sure whether or not we've been detected since suddenly a cluster of men came out of nowhere and started firing at everything." "Tell the men to be ready. Perhaps those were only some buggers who didn't know what they were shooting at, but we can't risk them catching us off guard."

DeletedUser24989

While Thomas went back and reported to Jack, Jack took ten men with him and went to the battle field. He went to the back of the church, had his six men lined up with rifles pointed at every window in front the big wall around it, and the rest were following jack "Ok men, let's go found a way through those big walls!"
" but sir, shouldn't we inform our allies that we are here?" one of the soldiers asked.
" If we do, the enemy will be informed too! so we have to be very careful not to be seen, we need to surprise the enemy!" then he rode off with the rest of the men.

(OOC: Thanks for the heads up I understand enough to do this post now also momo momo momo momo I am now with the Welsh idependance army not Edwardian army) They arrived to find this section of the town deserted. Suddenly they heard fire close by. Ben jumped and rolled behind cover as did his other men. They all took up positions and Ben signalled back to camp to send two more units. They arrived in five minutes. "As far as I can tell there is a battle around the Anglican church. Two forces are attacking it together but the weapons sound different which means two separate forces. One is our Irish men (I can tell by the sound of the weapons) and the other is something else entirely. They must have a pact with the Irish though. We should split up and head towards the church and try to find our Irish friends. Be careful though it appears they have more than one sniper." They moved quickly and quietly after signalling their intentions back to the camp via Torch Morse code (Instead of . and - you have a flash and a long beam.) and soon Ben spotted the Orange uniforms of the Irish. He moved stealthily towards them with his unit and when he reached the pub they had already spotted them but had kept on firing.
"Listen where is your commander?" he shouted over the gunfire.

(OOC: Don't be moving so fast guys. One minute you're in the street the next minute you're in the rear of my church. And also I should mention that there is a solid fence around the church that can either be climbed or demolished. You should have mentioned what happened to that so please take the time to look back, slow down, and consider whether its a good idea to stage an assault with your entire group without allied support (and you haven't communicated with your "allies also). I'm not being mean, I just want this to advance at a pace where we know how you got from point A to point B.)

(OOC:Johann care to do anything about your Irish unit any time soon. I can't post until you do. Also Lafitte their support has arrived. It's called my army)

Richard watched the chaos unfolding in the centre of the village, from what he could make out some commies and Irish independance fighters had formed a pact, whilst a group of Welsh indepenance fighters were running around, the Royalists in the village shop hadn't done anything yet and there appeared to be some Anglicans in the village church who were being harrased by inaccurate fire coming from somebody else, and he didn't know where that bloody cavalry officer had buggered off to, maybe it was him who had started the firing?
despite his confusion Richard decided to act.
"aim at anything that isn't in either a BUF or Edwardian Army uniform!" he whispered.
Simon and Herbert aimed their Lee-Enfields in the vague direction of the Irish and the Communists. John prepared a Molotov Cocktail and lit a match. Michael kept watching the rear, his shotgun would be useless at this range.
Richard readied his own Enfield at aimed it.
"FIRE!" he yelled at the top of his voice, suddenly all hell broke loose, the air was filled with the sound of Richard's men firing their rifles, the commies and the Irish scattered, John threw his Molotov which exploded at the side of the road, Tom, Stuart, Oscar and Howard (who were still in the top floor of the pub and had not been found by the Irish) joined in and the sound of the Lewis gun filled the air.

DeletedUser31931

The fire started up and Ben didn't bother wait. He called to the other unit and told them to bring the whole army in to destroy them. He didn't know who they were firing but it sounded like it came from upstairs. He motioned to his men and they climbed the stairs bursting in four men. Ben shot one instantly and then Max loosed of another shot. Two men had fallen. His unit burst in and had all the guns trained on the men "Don't fire!" he shouted "Now turn around very slowly and if you do anything funny I will shoot you. Is that understood? I want you to tell me who the hell you are fighting for and then I want you to surrender. If you don't you will die. Simple as." Ben was hoping they would surrender he didn't want to have to kill them but he would if they threatened his men (OOC: Tigermite you can not do anything which will save your men as it will count as god-modding. You know it is impossible and I have done this trusting you won't be stupid and try to somehow save those two and kill my unit as I will appeal to Lord Regal for god-modding.)
