It is very easy to code a random winner from an array of tickets (numbers) sold. Makes sense to have a winner every week.

I do not play lotto, but I think I know the basics ... and with a max of 15000 players in one world from which max 5000 can afford to buy a $1000 ticket, it cannot be like rl. In RL we have millions playing for 5 numbers and many times non get it ... imagine how many weeks will pass until someone hits 5 numbers. I guess 4 and 3 are winnable, but hey, why not reduce it to a max of 4 numbers from a set of 40. Where guessing 2 numbers will get your money back ($1000 win), 3 numbers guessed correctly gets you say 10-15% of the jackpot and 4 numbers gets it all - 23% VAT LOL :laugh:

sounds reasonable to me to have big winner, and small winners ... keeps people interested. Add some sort of fee to take money out of the game as well and avoid inflation lol.

I would make some changes:
1 ticket per player;
3 levels of prizes;
1 time a week.
(for each world)

Resuming: each player could buy a ticket. But there would be 3 tickets to choose.
Rich ticket: $10000 Prize: 1 premium chest
Lucky ticket : $5000 Prize:1 unique chest
Work ticket: $1000 Prize: 1 steel chest

You could only get 1 of those tickets per week. At the end of the week (let´s say 03:00 monday morning) the system would select 1 of each group of sold tickets and award the prize.
Some weeks (kinda like festive weeks) it could had some other prizes like nuggets or other chests or some special items.
Think on your server knowing that there would be a Boone Axe to be won on that week rich ticket draw.

(well, on monday everyone would go around checking if they know the one that got the prize)

But that said, it never got rejected. It was just too poorly presented to be put up for voting.

Gambling towns/founding towns

Referring to the founding towns, perhaps a casino/saloon element could be available by where you would be able to purchase tickets, then recieving a mystery item perhaps a few hours away.

I guess the current workaround is that of the founding towns and unlockable items from items.

Let me know how this comes in with the current idea :huh:
