Hey, this is an excellent idea, and despite me being 13 yrs old, I'd love to see poker be implemented into this, I always love a good round, and if it is put into the game, better look out, not all kids don't know what their doing in poker... :bandit: :tongueg:

I have been browsing the German server forum thanks to google translator. This idea is in the 'At Work' forum, which means it will be implemented.

Another good point is, from reading the german forum, it does seem that the chnages to the game are coming from player ideas. The greenhorn protection that was removed was a thread created by them for example.

It is nice to know that there is a way to have our say. Just waiting for proof that our views are also being taken into account.

Ongoing Faro Game in Progress !

The real gambling game of the West was Faro, (remember Wyatt Earp, Tombstone, etc)

Anyway, there is an <RP> Faro Game going on in the Campfire Stories section of the forum. Anyone can join in, anytime.

Well obviously they are taking heed of comments on the german forum. That does not, however, mean that what we say, no matter how relevant, innovative or indeed stupid it is, has any bearing....and that is sad. So moderators do you have any knowledge from your evil overlords if we are pissing in the wind or not?

yea it would. BUT, there are more games than JUST poker...

Good idea:

A new building, Casino, available only after certain criteria are met; this is what I had in mind:

- PERHAPS: a certain amount of traffic of players through the town (a high number).
- A minimum population ( at least 30, this is to make sure only big towns have Casinos)
- a minimum amount of Town Points
- a town hall of a certain level
- with each new level of the Casino, you get new games
- if there is a dealer, when the dealer wins, a percentage (maybe 50%?) of the earned money goes to the town treasury.

A small list of games could be: Black Jack, Poker, Texas Hold 'em, and those kind of games :).

Just throwing ideas out, don't hang me.

Also, the reason there should be requirements is because only the big towns should have high level casinos. Perhaps make each level of the casino have more and more requirements?

Edit: Depending on the level of the casino, players could only bet so much money. Like small casinos shouldn't have the option to bet $10,000 in a single game of poker...

According to a previous post, this idea was in development. So now should we get our hopes up of this being in the next few updates; or are we all going to have grand-children by the time this idea is implemented.

Another idea which had player opinions affect it was the proposed changing of building skills. They nixed the concept after hearing the negative comments about it.

cheating idea is bad.. too complicated with the running away etc. And gambling boats?!

Cheating is bad? Cheating at gambling was more of a Wild West "thing" then shoot-outs ever were. Gamblers of the era would actually cut off part of their own finger to make them better at dealing seconds and bottoms (instead of dealing the top card of the deck, they would save that card for themselves and deal the next card until it got to themselves or a buddy and then give them a good card from the top or bottom, wherever they "loaded" the deck). And as for running away ... forget it! If you're caught cheating then it's an automatic duel against everyone at the table. If you catch someone else cheating then it should be everyone against the cheater (no energy expended to shoot a cheater). If it's the house, have a built in "cheating" percentage (yeah, the house was often the crooked cheat ... get 'em drunk and take their money ... one-way or the other). As far as how to catch cheating, if you get two of the same cards in a one-deck game, it's probably cheating!

I cant believe that they dont already have that in the game. I mean its on the opening screen after all. I would love to be able to play some poker in this game

Excellent idea. But you nee to put a limit of playing time/tries.And you need to make sure that with poer players dont give the money to eachother.

I mean:2 Friends are playing the west.1 of them is going to stop.He says:I want to give you all my money.2.Ok we play poker and you lose,so I win the money.

1 Option is to give evryone rankings.Like:Able,Distinguished,Respected,Master,Renown,Grand-Master,Legendary,Ultimate.
When losing rank goes a bit down (depends on how many you lose),and when you win a pot youre rank goes up.You start with Able. You can only play with players that differ 3 ranks. So an able can only play with distinguished, able ,respected and masters etc.

have you ever played the flash game Governor Of Poker?
I think it is a good game and if it could be combined with The West you would have a real winner.
I dont want to post a link but to find it just google Governor of Poker.

Yeah, great game, and thanks for not posting a link. I actually thought about suggesting that exact game. It's the best flash poker game I've ever played. I was tempted to buy the full version.
