Easter Showdown

Easter Showdown

There's nothing like the smell of gunpowder on a fine Spring's morning, so to celebrate we're holding the much anticipated Easter Showdown! Unlike the Christmas Tombola, you'll have a shot (or eight) at testing your luck every six hours. The catch? It won't be as easy as opening a stocking, since there are four duellers standing in your way. Although their skills are questionable, to say the least, a bribe may be necessary to recover your reward should you fail to defeat your opponent.

The Showdown will start on the 28th March and finish on 15th April. There are four bandits available to duel, one free and the others costing 25, 150 and 800 nuggets respectively. Each can be duelled once every six hours, but you have the option of clearing all timers by using 25 nuggets or bonds. Health points are not deducted at the end of each duel.

The bandits' duelling skills are quite weak; it is intended that players very rarely (if ever) lose. If you lose then you can challenge that bandit again for free, however you must first wait six hours before doing so. Alternatively you can bribe the bandit and receive your reward immediately (see below).

The items will be split into four categories, corresponding to each dueller: common, uncommon, rare and very rare. It is possible to find rarer items when duelling a cheaper bandit. For example, if you challenge the second bandit at a cost of 25 nuggets, you can find uncommon, rare and very rare items but not common items.

At the end of the event, the player with the longest winning streak against the bandits will win all of the new sets created for the Showdown. If you lose a duel it is possible to save your winning streak by bribing the bandit, otherwise your current streak will be reset to zero.

Item set bonus will be confirmed closer to the release of this event.

> The Easter Showdown discussion

This is the post from last year.
What about this year?

Is it completely new? Or old concept with new sets? or exactly last years event?

If it is going to stay the same as it is now on Beta, then it is the same concept like last year (duel NPC's for items), with 4 tiers (free, 25nugg, 150nugg, 800nugg). You can collect eggs just like you did with hearts and you can reset the timer on those duels with either nuggs(25) or eggs(500). 4 sets in total, no option to use your bonds or cash this time.

But we'll see if it will change or stay the same.

Do you know if the sets will stay as they are in beta now?
Regarding resets; do you know if nuggets reset 8 hours as 500 eggs do?

Must be getting close. All the servers were reset this morning. :)

Easter tombola will most probably be here tomorrow, at 10 AM. 10 AM, since most of the new event quests, and winter tombola started at 10 AM. Guessing it will be the same as earlier as well.

An yea, ViriM, set bonuses and the gear itself are based on levels like Lover's set. So high level guys will obviously benefit more than the lower levels.

I did some calculations of average dmg for the Easter set, which will be available to all with little effort. The gun will provide a lvl 120 with an average dmg of 120.7, a lvl 130 with an average dmg of approximately 130, and a lvl 150 with an average dmg of 149.5. Not far from the Howdah.

Cullen's, which you linked to, provide huge addons to all duel related skills except shooting, but still deals an average of 143.5 at lvl 150 in addition to adding to the set bonus and providing aim bonus on it's on. I am sure it will become the de facto set for duelers; maybe even res duelers. The latter I have not yet had time to look into though.

(Of course, this is conditional upon no change from the beta values, and that I have calculated correctly :) )

Yes... fix to reduce friends to max 100 was implemented it seems. And probably setting the stage for tomorrow and the kick off of the Easter event :)

yes they do (resets). Plus you can use 500 eggs if you lose a duel to bribe opponent.

One important thing:
You must have streak of 75 wins to get all Easter Showdown set items. One loss will reset streak to 0. So don't duel if you don't have 500 eggs to bribe opponent (or 25 nuggets).

And even more important thing:
It is very well doable to get streak of 75 wins without any spamming of eggs through friends bar.

I've been collecting the Easter showdown set items in beta without any nuggets; it is very easy to do; at least it i was for a new char, starting fresh off the blocks. Of course the benefit of such a situation situation is that you never run out of energy due to level ups and can work more or less around the clock and you gain premium from the early quests. Still though it shouldn't be too hard for anyone to gain the full set with some focus.

I am missing 3 items, expecting to gain one in 7 hours, when I have collected enough eggs for another round of duels, bribes and time resets. I should have the full set without any nuggets used within 6-7 days of play.

Just to be 100% sure that the question answered above: Do 25 nuggets reduce the time to next duel with 8 hours, or just 2 hours as in previous tombola events?

It resets the timer to 0, at least that's the way it is in beta currently.

There will be no further changes from the current setup on Beta.

in 3-4 first events we can use bonds but in last events we can not use bonds in events , bond going be useless things ingame

DeletedUser30224

You can buy almost any chest with bonds and sell the item you receive from the chest ... not useless. But I would like to see a bond option as well from the trombola as I was sawing up as well :)

DeletedUser22685

You can use eggs (similar to the Valentine's hearts) to reset the timer instead of bonds this time around. Bonds are still very much useful as zd pointed out. Tombolas were never their main purpose.

Just like last year, they copy your skills, so having a duel build doesn't necessarily give you an advantage over players with a job build. Wear all appearance gear and you will win almost every time.
