it just looks good...so all its good for is lowering your stats as you can not have your proper one on...they should least have like +5 appearance(because it looks cool) and +3 horse back riding (well Santa does need some boost to ride that slay so fast)

I htink it could have added some tactics to help you defend if you won't be active much during Chirstmas so you'd have some help in defending.

Though I know some people put it on when their character is going to sleep as the skills don't mater in this situation.
