Does anyone else regret voting for Barack Obama yet?

The electoral college isn't made for presidental elections specifically but more for other issues. Each state would need equal representation in this particular case because otherwise the seperation of state and federal jurisdiction would almost be non-existent. It would allow for two completely opposing morals to be imposed on one another, just because one state has a bigger population.

Why can't we just let the peoples votes decide ? The guy who has the most wins. Then it would be possible to break the stranglehold on the two party system IMO.

Also they need to get rid of the primary election process and figure something else out ... how many gazillions of dollars have been given to farmers in Iowa over the last 20 years cause they are the first state in the Primary process ?

I do agree with you on both points.

I wish I had more to add to that, do forgive me. I think I am just sitting in amazement that this thread was actually thrust back on rail. :)

Well, one thing I can add is the fact that so many citizens are afraid of such dramatic reform when it's actually dramatic reform that could potentially pull us out of this economic downfall.

.

There should be a function to hide all posts of less then 10 words ... then this thread would fit on one page :p

Or perhaps better moderation and rules?

Maybe I'm asking too much here. :p

Now you sound like a Government telling us what the best way to do something is !

Give the power to the people and let them CHOOSE to hide posts of less then 10 words or from certain players !

^^^How's that for staying on topic ? lol

Au contraire, my dear compatroit, I am merely suggesting that I would be fit for election!

I believe our morals are in line, and I choose to support your (our) beliefs!

I will make sure the public is aware of all of the inner-workings and I will fight for your rights*!

*to party

The Electoral College: possibly the best counterexample in history to the idea that compromise is a good thing.

This is the Off Topic section. The rules are a bit relaxed so that free speech isn't hindered. Elmyr does a fine job modding it.

Back to the original question. I don't regret voting for Obama. I'm not saying he is the greatest president ever. Time will be the judge of how well he does. I think it is a bit too early to start making judgments on his performance.

I can tell you as far as McCain goes his biggest mistake was Palin. I had great respect for the man until he brought Palin on board and then the Dynamic Republican Duo started a hate campaign that smacked of racism and almost seemed to condone violence or at the very least condoned the thought of violence.

Coming from ireland i believe that either of the two would have been made look good from the last idiot.Everyone this side of world wanted obama especially here in ireland anyway, i like his changes so far e.g to the climate and gitmo bay to name two.

Obama has changed the climate?

Where have I been for the past months.

i dont regret it cause i dident do it . I'll say this though ...does it scare anyone else that Sweden is calling Obamas ideas too socalist?

DeletedUser

No, it shouldn't.

Where did they say that? Could you find me a link? Considering their healthcare system I would be quite surprised if they did comment on Barack's policies.

I am surprised the the OP did not attack you for saying you did not vote for him

He had something to contribute (his question on the end) whereas you never do.

All I ask is that you contribute something besides your unnecessary spam that does nothing to promote the topic at hand whatsoever.

Perhaps because Lorgos added something to the discussion?

I hadn't heard Sweden called Obama too socialist.
Wich people, from what party, etc.

Care to toss out a link?

Another marvel by Gizmo.

"I know you are, but what am I?!"

*sigh*

Just leave the talking to the adults and go play in your pen already.

So, Lorgos, could you get me a link to that article on Obama and Sweden?

Bear in mind, I don't disagree with you on the fact that Obama does have many ideas that could be construed as socialism.
