I have to say John Williams has probably achieved more than any other movie-score composer. While I may prefer other's taste in music, he has accomplished so much in the last fifty years it's hard to rate him anything else than number one. He has done so many popular movies: Heidi, Fiddler On The Roof, Tom Sawyer, Jaws, Midway, Star Wars, Superman, E.T., Indiana Jones, JFK, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, Sabrina, Saving Private Ryan, Harry Potter, etc. The guy's phenomenal. And he's also a pianist which definitely affects my judgment. ;)

6) John Williams indeed, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Schindler's List; all definitely awesome... :)
7) Howard Shore: The Lord of the Rings, pure awesomness :p
8) Hanz Zimmer: The Last Samurai says enough, really really really good music :laugh:, although Pirates of the Carribean and Gladiator should be mentioned too. :)

10) Yann Tiersen probably...
