STORY
In 1965 President Lyndon B. Johnson as assassinated by a Vietnam War protester. Now martyred, riots broke out all across the United States against the war protesters. War spirit was high. Johnson's vice president, rather than being Hubert Humphrey, was a man named Joseph Carlton, an aggressive leader who poured much men and money into Vietnam.

When the Chinese entered the war later that year President Carlton declared war, with Congress's support, on China.
The Soviet Union backed the Chinese, and the British joined the American side. Soon, an Allied Force and Axis Force were assembled.

In 1967 the first true shots of World War III were fired when a massive American fleet launched a D-Day like landing on the Chinese coast.

Now it is 1975. The Chinese and Indians are fighting in Indochina, the Japanese and Russians skirmish in Korea, the Americans hold off Latin American attacks, and non-Soviet Europe fights the Arabs in Africa.

Since then, though, she has grown used to killing.

MATTHEW ANDERSON
THE CENTRAL AMERICAN HIGHWAY, BELIZE

Anderson sat on the bench in his covered truck, reading from Military Tactics and Strategy for the New Officer (a book published near the start of the war that was essentially the one used by Civil War officers, rewritten to include tanks and other era-appropriate tactics/technology). He had only been promoted three days ago, due to most of their officers being cut down by rifle fire. Just one Latin soldier had snuck around their flanks and gunned them down.

"Latins!" yelled a rifleman marching in front of the truck.
"Ev'rybody, get outta the truck!" Anderson yelled. There were 9 soldiers besides Anderson in there. Only six, including him, had gotten out when a bazooka slug slammed into the engine, blowing it up.

Jake was looking at sky when the bomb hit the city.Jake was thrown off his feet onto his back and was knocked out.Jake opened his eyes and saw a blue sky.He looked around and saw nothing but dust and dead bodies.Jake got up.Where the hell are the rest Jake thought.Jake saw a group of men alive and walking towards him.Jake realised who they were.They were his friends in the Seals."What the hell happened?" A Seal Trooper asked Jake."I don't know but I don't want to find out.Let's get out of here"Jake replied.They found a military truck and were relieved when it turned on.They drove out of the city onto an American Highway.They saw the destroyed truck and the men lying on the ground.Jake ran over to them and then realised they were dead.Jake then saw a group of six men alive over at one side.Jake ran over to them and asked if they were O.K.

Riflefire filled his ears, and Matthew saw three of his men get gunned down. He pulled out his pistol and fired a shot into the bushes. A Latin, dressed in the normal jungle camo, fell out from behind some bushes, clutching his bleeding chest. "Form a circle!" Matthew yelled in his thick country drawl. The soldiers surrounded him, and they all stood in an awkward silence.

Anybody else who decides to join, please take note that this is "Alternate History". Any weaponry must be Vietnam War-era (I can tell you what is) and there is no magic-science, like cloning.

I couldn't hear the sound of the man infront of me over the roar of the plane. We were standing in a large carrier plane, readying ourselves for the jump ahead. We were being sent in to support the Brits in capturing Cairo. They were heading from the West, crossing the Nile River. We were to land in the east part of Cairo. We were to land at the Islamic Museam and from there head to the Citadel, which we were to capture. I held onto the small metal rod just alittle above me with my right hand, the M16 slung across my chest.

Okay, I'm going to organize this a bit more in a while.

As for Italy, here's what I've decided:

NATO and the Warsaw Pact were both the real contenders of the Cold War, lead by the USA and Soviet Union (respectively).

Italy was a NATO member.

Thus, Italy would be a contender in this war. I will add it to the list.


I'm going to start another thread for recruitment.

The commandoes and infantry alike began running away, panicked. Anderson, realizing that if he stayed there he would die, yelled, "Men, with me!" and dashed off into the bushes, in such a way that he didn't draw attention to himself.

Making his way through the bushes, he came up to a stone temple, one of the remnants of the Maya civilization. He walked through a small stone door inside, and sat down. "We should be safe," he whispered to the three weary riflemen who had followed him.

Back in Saigon, Vietnam, 4 years after the end of the Vietnam War

It had been 4 years since First Sergenat John Whitmoor had been in Saigon. Everybody still referred to it as Saigon, despite the name being changed to Ho Chi Minh City after the Communist takeover. The mission of the soldiers stationed here was to make it through the Indochinese peninsula any way possible, and attack China from the south. John thought this was rediculous, as they could just attack Western China easily from India, and all they would have to do is a build up. But, John figurered, American pride was lost when Vietnam fell to the Communists, so they needed it back. So, about 30,000 American, 15,000 British, and 50,000 Indian soldiers were bogged down in a front about 80 miles north of Saigon, giving John a good chance to test out the AR-10 in jungle environments.

The men in the front starting jumping from the plane, deploying their parachutes. Angelo was about to jump out when suddenly the plane shook violently. A large hole was off to his left where the closed loading ramp had been. A red light went off in the plane, notifiying something was wrong. Angelo lost his grip and was thrown out by the violent jerking of the plane, tumbling torwards the ground, spinning fast in a circle.

Angelo pulled the cord again to open the parachute, but nothing happened. He pulled it again, but still nothing happened. He was spinning faster now, everything becoming a blur.
