Vacations.....

What is the best vacation spot you have been too?

I heard some time ago about a $8 billion dollar casino being built in Singapore, so my wife and I had to see it.....We booked our trip through AIRMILES and other than fees and taxes our accumulated airmiles paid for the entire trip.....

Everything about this place was WAY over the top LITERALLY....

Best vacations were spent on grandma's farm as a kid. But now my sweet spot is camping on a lake (for now) :p

Best vacations? Don't really have a best, I'd say all of them and all for different reasons, but the one theme that they all share is that my family are all really happy for once and usually it all turns out alright. I suppose if you forced me to pick one holiday, I'd say probably my third visit to Namibia with my family as by then we knew enough about the country to enjoy ourselves without A) looking like fools or B) breaking down at the side of the road due to a lack of spare tyres (you need 2 in case you're wondering.) and it was an amazing trip, where we saw and experienced loads and got to see the country in ways we hadn't before.

I think some of the best vacations I've been on have been my trip to England and France, or any of the 14'ers I've climbed. I really loved the history of England and France, and how everywhere you go, there are ancient buildings, with such a long and interesting history.

Agreed. That is one of the upsides of living in England if you are interested in history like me. Especially military history. We have a very violent past. For instance, I live literally a few miles away from the site of the undoing of Kett's Rebellion.

One of my favourite rebellions is the one (I can't remember the name, it's about four years since I studied it) where they called it a pilgrimage, so the King couldn't hurt them without destroying his relations with the Church (even though he owned the church, I think it was Henry VII) and so he told them they'd get what they wanted, then when they dispersed and went home he had them all executed for treason.

Nashy (as himself)
Nothing really stands out, unless you count childhood holidays like Disney Land or Puzzle Wood (and other home-country places). I'm going to Iceland at the end of the month, I think it was an unusually hot day when I decided that.

On a lake... you have a camp-raft? :p

My absolute favorite vacation, and a kind of working holiday was to visit all the Civil War battle sites and historic monuments all over the southern and northern States.

I've had too many!! I've tremendously enjoyed the majority of my vacations.

To name a few was the trip to Orlando back in 1998 when I went to Disney World. Scuba diving trips to Mozambique and Aliwal Shoal. Cruise liner trips up the East and West Coast of South Africa.

My most favorite would probably be a cruise around the Caribbean sea. Stops in Mexico (Cozumel, Cancun and Calica) were absolutely amazing. I would definitely do that again!

My wife and I have been on 5 cruises in our lifetime and they were all great. Zero Problems, other than enjoying ourselves a bit too much.....

Vancouver to Alaska Inside passage
Caribbean sea Cruise
Fiords Of Norway Cruise
Mediterranean Cruise
Rhine river Cruise....

There is so much to do on a cruise nowadays......And the time goes way too quick.....I almost never sleep on this events......I can do that at home....When we get home we need a Vacation from the vacation...:p

That's probably the worst thing about a cruise, the lack of sleep :p While people go on these things to relax, there are just too much happening, too many shows, too much food to eat :D

Booze to drink, tables to gamble on, SO many sports and entertainment, Your right, After a couple of weeks a guy can get very tired of all the fun....:p

I enjoy smaller journeys, like a trip we once took to the grand canyon....We rafted and took the helicopter tours.....And we were very lucky, our guide said it was one of the clearest days he has seen in years.....Great video we took....
