The ragtag bunch of Texas Rebels have grouped together to form a cohesive group. Tireless days of basic training under the wise leadership of new generals seems to be paying off.

Texan witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated "It looks like a whole new army in there. They all be havin shiny weapons and some even pulled out their goverment issued uniforms. We may actually repel the Mexicans yet."

With this first offensive win under the Texans belt they now must prove it wasnt a fluke and attempt to take another fort back from the Mexicans.

Jim Bowie, one of the Generals of Gonzales, was quoted as saying "We'd like to keep that little beauty, but alas there are more forts fer us to be takin away from those "Mexican'ts". Oh but you can be sure we'll come back to defend it anytime and you can quote me on that fer shure."

A new flag was raised at the fort in honor of the Texan motto, simlar to this one

The Texans will be celebrating deep into the night, but they also know that this is only the first of many attacks to be won. Also they expect the Mexicans to attempt to retake what was lost to their allies today.

In a surprise attack, armed terrorists attacked and took a fort from the good Mexican people yesterday. Witnesses were horrified and outraged by the betrayal. “We have helped them, armed them and protected them from their enemies and this is what they do!” said Mrs. Rodriguez, a resident in the nearby community. “The fort was more than just a place to rest our heads. It was also where our children played and learned to shoot and fight.”

“Do not be fooled!” warned Antonio Lopez leader of the Mexican forces, “these are not revolutionaries robed in the glory of truth and right. They are terrorists and traitors bent on destruction. They attack us wearing the uniforms we provided them, and using the guns we gave them.”

The message from the Mexican war office was clear “It is always a sad day when brother attacks brother, but we will not bargain with traitors.” Word is that the Mexican army is on the move. Weapons gleam, horses stamp and toss their heads. They are battle ready and aching for a fight. “We were just having a little siesta mi amigo, but we are awake now I assure you,” said one battle scarred veteran. “Take the fort back? ¡Por supuesto! Of course we will :) What is it they do? Darn their toot? Toot their darn? They will be sorry they started this war. Hehe I like that flag. It will make a very nice target.”

Time for a news update from W4 Games Mastered event,

This week marked another achieved goal for the Texans, as it has been awhile since the Texan army has been able to fill a medium sized fort defense with 84 recruits, and this week the Texans achieved that goal and to the dismay of the fort owner several were unable to help defend the Texan fort due to cramped corners, some said it was a rank issue as to why the extras were not there.

Jim Bowie was heard saying that the rank smell is seriously not coming from him bunk and not to ask about him about the rank again. Later in celebration party his bunk was dosed in cheap Mexican tequila, so it definitely has rank now. Jim Bowie thought a Mexican infiltrated the fort, after he found his bunk, and searched the fort looking for the hidden Mexican that brought in the tequila.

During his search he found a mouse with a large hat constantly sayin "Areba Areba Areba" and a hidden stash of unused whiskey, and the rest after that was a bit hazy for everyone (including this reporter - if anyone has any details please post.)

And in other interesting news this past week La Bahia came out of hiding and managed to muster up an attack on a few of the Texan allied forts. Recently as the Mexicans have failed to achieve victory against the Texans when La Bahia personally attacks a fort itself. We will see how this pattern continues.

Also the fort battle times are looking to be changed on both sides, so if you previously were unable to make a fort battle time, then speak up in your town alliance forum and make your voice heard on what time you prefer to attend battles.

This Texan vs Mexican war is just heating up, come join them if you haven't already.
