"lets start the adventure" question

ok I have a question on the quest "lets start the adventure" the part were you get the spade is it better the quest "It has to be straight" or do the Job "digging graves"? you get a spade eather way. does it make a difference which one you do?

It doesn't matter, you just need a spade. The sub-quests in the class quests never matter (none of the ones I've done at least), unless it's for products that you can only get from a sub-quest, like compasses, etc.

I got a spade through building an irrigation system, and yes it lets you skip that quest.

And once you complete the main quest, the subquests become unavailable.
