this could be like a wanted poster and if your on the list and you go to the store or hotel it will say as you get ready to enter the store/hotel you see a wanted poster with your face on it and you think it might be better to go elsewhere.

better yet a cutscene where you see a bullet richochet past your head and you duck and run,

I agree with the wanted poster. Once the person that is on the poster, then the whole town is alerted and can start dueling the person.
