Agreed, I think that these items should take more effort and a little less money. Maybe it could come out in a quest format like you need to give in 1250 nuggets + snake skins/ work/ adventure/etc for the snake and the quest line is cancelled after the first a hundred or so players complete it.
As for the chests, I think 1500 nuggets might be a bit much. That's enough to buy you a meal in RL when it probably only buys you Stand Watie's boots. These chests should probably be taken out of the tombola and have better odds. While I understand this might cut back on money, if someone gets one thing from a chest that is nice, they will possibly continue, if they got garbage twice then they might have a foot outside the game's door.
