If I do not wear any weapon and if I pray few times before the construction work, will I get good stuff in my town's stores?

No one knows what prayer does in the game. There are some speculations but no one can say for sure that if you pray you will get better items in your stores.

I think praying does not influence the items in shops. You chose whatever path you want, if you want to waste time praying, then go ahead. If not, then don't. Is a matter of choice. But the end result is all about luck, not about praying.
