Hi everyone, how's it going?
The question is simple: in terms of effectiveness or overall results, is it better for a Worker to be a tank or an anti-tank? What do you guys prefer?
P.S. Which build usually gives you more experience (XP) in fort battles?

Worker is good in both scenarios. Generally a tank worker is a beast on its own tower but an anti tank worker is great in all areas. But playing anti tank worker for since I remember, I believe it has the best XP outcome and generally performs better than a tank worker.

tank worker if you enjoy being on towers while being offline, while offline anti tank could be good on certain scenarios, highly dependent on attack/defense/leader.

3 points:
1. first of all the good news is that you can always change from one to another with a reskill
2. the natural formulas make hit chance be higher than dodge chance so you benefit from a bigger increase in hit chance
3. you should get a bit more xp as tank due to the current values of xp bonus on tank vs dmg sets

most rifle options in the worker damager meta dont give xp, thats why worker tanks will get more xp
sure but if you're going to play tank or damage you will obviously try to get the bis items... and if we get the same logic and you cant get bis tank weapons nor bis damage weapons then you wont have more xp simply because current bis damage sets ( clothes ) give more xp than tank sets..

you didnt get it

a worker tank will play with bis clothes + ride + weapons and they all give xp

a worker damager will also play with bis clothes + ride + weapons but the bis rifle for a worker damager is a rifle ^5 and the most realistic options of rifles ^5 dont give xp (john, murrieta, deputy...)

fair enough, but if he doesnt really care that much about maximum damage and he wants maximum XP then i think we can agree that if he uses sundance, prisoner, sousa, langdon weapons he can get more xp than a tank

Who plays battles for XP? I once went to a battle in full XP gear and did horribly but got 50k xp from it. Dont recommend it. The difference cant be more than a few thousand points which you could get in a few minutes doing 15 sec.

While is true a worker can be a decent tank and damager, nowadays Fort Fights are HP based, so I like to analize the matter in HP values

- Tank: a tank worker helps the group with 25k-30k HP, depending on level, clothes etc etc
- Damager: a worker damager can help the group taking 45k HP from the other side, on average, maybe more

So, while I prefer tanking, I have to tell you that being a damager is the best option, you help the most

Also, you can rank better in Fort Battle ranking, since ranking has a damage bias

Richi is right. As a worker tank u can dodge like 50-100 around. As a worker damager u can do like 40k-60k around. It could be more or less but being worker damager maybe better nowadays. Because we generally see 50-60k + HP Soldier Tanks more often...

Worker is jack of all trades on forts but with level cap increase soldiers are soldiering around, its nice you can hit 600-3000 depending ur level and rifle upgrade but given there are very very fat soldiers around, even with full hit, gonna take a long time. I'd say go with tank and dance on your tower

Well, it was your chance to join the short event and test it yourself. Hope you did. If not your probably too busy for it.
