What's with workers?

Hello,

what's with workers on world 1.

I'm building a pure builder worker and was kicked out from a town for not contributing in the coffers.

In other worlds my adventurers build up town coffers so that the workers have money to build up the town and this is the way I'm used to.

Workers building towns get no money from that so how does anybody think that they should fill the town coffers?

Sounds like a town you`re better off out of.
Workers build the town,everyone else pays somehow either with donations or by protecting the weak and crippling enemy towns.
Thats the way the majority work but there are always exceptions as you have found out.
