What is 'active waytime shortening'?

There's only about five threads that have I could find about it but they were mainly guides. Google has helped none.

One thread said it's similar or comparable to nugget jumping but I don't know what that is either.

Active waytime shortening is shorting the qued travel time either by use of buffs(roasted pork knuckle, oat or red Easter egg) or by clicking the nugget icon beside your qued travel time. Buffs usually shorten it by 25% whle nuggets by 50%. soo looking at the image bellow, if i used nuggs i would shorten it down to 5:30 minutes.

It means shortening the amount of time currently ticking on the clock as you are moving to a new area, aka your "active waytime." So if you're not currently moving, it does nothing, just as a speed increase will not shorten any journey you are already on.
