Greetings,

Inspired by this idea (The West Lottery), we have decided this would be a great campaign to run here on .net.

Of course before we release the lottery, I would like to get a feel on how players are wanting this to be run, therefore you can use this thread to vote and air your concerns.

You may choose more than one option.

I prefer buying a lotto ticket using nuggets/bonds vs. I prefer buying a lotto ticket using cash
I would be happy to have both options available, but if only one is to be implemented then I would have to sway the vote towards using ingame cash.

I want cash rewards vs. I want nugget/bond rewards vs. I want item rewards
I would only be interested in playing to receive item rewards.

I'm willing to pay $1000/10 Nuggets or bonds per ticket vs. I'm willing to pay $5000/50 Nuggets or bonds per ticket vs. I'm willing to pay $10000/100 Nuggets or bonds for a ticket
I am of the same opinion here as I was in regards to the method of purchasing lottery tickets, I would be happy for all 3 to be implemented for separate draws but if only one is to be implemented then I am swayed towards $5000/50 Nuggets or bonds.

I'm interested in VIP draws where I can only enter on invitation for special goods
Definitely, would add an extra element to the proceedings.

I like the lotto world specific vs. I prefer a global lottery
100% pro world specific on this option.

I would play if each player can only get 1 ticket per week.
(if there are more draws, only 1 ticket per draw each week).

That way the big fish won´t get a massive advantage over the other ones.
And it would be fun after the draw the people running around asking for the one that got the prize.
And the prize... well make it bonds for the cheaper tickets and some nuggets for the bigger priced tickets.
Sometimes, on special events, it could be some special item and people could buy 2 tickets on that week instead of one.

Well I don't want to interfere too much in funds, so nuggets are the least of my concerns right now, I prefer using in game cash only. Maybe UPB, still considering.

As for prizes, we can swing it many ways, even having the whole pool of in game cash gained being given to the winner but I'm sure this would be a little unfair. Besides, I think attraction towards a Wyatt's buntline or Inno Belt or Gatling gun could be better :p

But remember, the more you pay for a ticket, the better the item would be.

So this is my thoughts so far, 3 global lotteries each fortnight/month. Each dependent on the ticket prices above. Prizes also dependent on the price of the ticket.

:D The envelopes that give upb would be a good prize for the lower priced tickets.
Then that monthly draw that would give some of those almost impossible to get things.
Even a chest could be thought... even that people would have to get lucky 2 times :D
But for buying a chest for 1500 upbs or nuggets or pay 10000 for a ticket to try to get one... :D

PS- or some of those Geronimo things, alien weapons or artifacts that had been delivered to some markets would be a great prize. Even that inno belt or the gatling should have a special price above the highest priced ticket.

It won't be actually fair for the poor players so are you guys sure you want to go on with this idea?

Personally I don't see why we should have a lottery in the first place, come on people! it's 'The West'! can we not have a poll to see if people actually want this or not?

DeletedUser14006

It adds a further element of mystery and excitement to the game, how could that be a bad thing?

Lotteries have been around in the US since before the revolution and Keno was popular in the Old West. It's not an anachronism.

Thanks, I was afraid I was the only one who didn't get it. I thought maybe it was some kind of second chance thing, but it could be like a special lottery for the top X premium customers. If it's the latter, that would probably bring the vote down a bit.

I like the idea, but it would be more fun if everyone had one ticket, and the same chance of winning. I'd buy with in-game cash since its easy to come by for me at the moment, and would prefer to get item rewards.

I thought it was the ones who run the lottery who invite random players for...I guess a more valuable prize.

On the saloons it was normal to have some easy machines like the Dice Machines, that would get you some cigarrs or some drinks for free if you got lucky on it.
It was on the old west that born the "burst the bubble" game. Some calendar had 99 holes to be punctured and on 5 of those you would get tools for the gold digging, bullets for your gun, repairs and free drinks. (they were very normal on the saloons nearby towns with rivers around)
Then it was the card games (some of those ended outside with the guns on the hands...) that could be from some local "dealer" or the sallon would organize them for prizes like a night with the dancer (can´t talk about that here... check sites for those stories).
So the lottery was already around before the casinos taked over in the late western times.

The ticket lottery was not normal because people would stay on one place for a few weeks and moved somewhere else trying there luck.

I bow in humiliation to your knowledge.

Correct it is "The West", tho you still have job called "Construct casinos". :p ;)

That should have been included as an option I think. "I don't want to see a lottery in The West." People do compare browser games and most of them, especially the flash based farming clones, do have daily drawings for prizes, but there's no competition there. Everybody wins something.

Agreed, elmyr. I do not like this at all, simply makes it easier for rich/premium players to get richer.
