Ferruccio sighed with relief as Taranis put Frank down. He didn’t want to use his power, but if Taranis attacked Frank again, he just might have to act. Laura asked Frank why he wanted to help her. It was a fair question, and Ferruccio hoped that Frank would be able to give a good answer. Frank did give a good answer, at least it was good enough to ease Laura. Taranis, though, wasn’t eased by Frank’s answer. First the snide comment, insinuating something a bit more physical than seemingly academic interest. And then, Taranis nearly snapped again.
It was a slow thing, but Ferruccio could see that if he didn’t act fast, the threats might realize themselves. Ferruccio hadn’t used his power in maybe a few months, if not longer; he didn’t know what exactly would happen. Still, he mentally prepared himself to activate his power. Before he could realize it, Taranis had turned to Laura, and told her to meet him in his cell, the left. Ferruccio calmed down, then thought about the events, and how Taranis looked. “Those eyes, and the teeth. They’re the same as a vampire’s,” Ferruccio said to the two remaining people in his cell.
Shaking his head, Ferruccio stated, “I hope he can get better control over that. Seems like Taranis’s power is activated by extreme emotion as well. Guess that means I’ll have to try to teach you and Taranis to get your powers under control, just for the fact that I have mine under control, in that I can call on it whenever I want. Just like the rest of us, except maybe for Frank, I also have to work on honing my power.” Grabbing the bottle of wine that was still sitting on the dresser, and his cup, Ferruccio took a drink from the cup while passing the bottle to Frank. “You might need a bit after that shock. What about you Laura? Need to calm your nerves a bit too?” Ferruccio gave a laugh before continuing. “I don’t think it would be very safe to go to Taranis’s cell alone. I’ll come with you, and Frank will follow behind a bit. I don’t know what he has planned, but I’d rather there be a way for you to get out if it gets out of hand. Agreed?”
