Charlie jumped, somewhat startled that somebody had chosen to speak with him, for he couldn't recognise anyone from the group he'd be lumped into. "U - um, excuse me? My Parents...? The things got into my house... mom's d-d.."

He turned away, trying not to let the others see him on the verge of tears. His back still turned he mumbled "I'm not sure what happened to my dad, I could only hear him firing the gun he keeps locked away." A few moments later after regaining some composition but blurry eyed, he turned back around. "I'm Charlie." He said, offering his hand to Glanton.

Glanton reached out to the boy. Trying to fight back tears from hearing of Charlie's experience which resembled that of his own. He attempted to reassure the boy that he was safe. "They got my pa too. It's gonna be fine little buddy" He voice became choked. "We just gotta stick together is all, try to keep your mind off things and hope this all blows over." Glanton invited the boy to sit with him and offered him some sunflower seeds he had in his jacket pocket.

"Hey! What did they put you in for?" Asked a tallish Indian man with rimmed spectacles and a large black overcoat.
"Pub brawl." Kent replied. "Although now I look back on it, the guy who started the brawl might have been infected." He added.
He rubbed his eyes, he hadn't been able to get any sleep for obvious reasons.
"Haven't got a fag have ya?" He asked. He could do with a smoke.

"Let me check", said Jay, searching his coat pockets. A box was there luckily. Still three cigarettes remained. "Here", he took out one and handed it over to the inmate, before putting one to his own lips. I could do with a smoke as well. As this chaos makes me sick. He checked his pockets again. No matches. Drat!. "Sorry mate no matches, you got one by any chance?", asked he. "The name's Jay by the way. What you say about the brawl may be true, have been hearing this myself since day before yesterday. Thought it was some bloody rumour, but no it seems now." He observed the people around him as he was conversing. He caught an attractive lady standing near him looking at them. She turned her head away catching his glance. Taking his eyes off her Jay saw an elderly pastor talking to a lady and another man in his 70's in their group, filling up his form quietly. He turned once again to the inmate, "They should let you out now. The infection is spreading and it is no time to be locked up for a petty brawl", said Jay angrily.

She sighed when the pastor asked about her order she got yesterday. "I am afraid I can't make it in time. The order was for tomorrow but I got stuck here. I am afraid the wedding won't happen either, the bride or groom must be dead already. Hey Mr. Minot, you must be tired, I saw two empty seats over there, let's sit down and relax a bit, shall we?" said Mienn, linked in his arm gently and led him over the seats. As she sat down, she saw an army man in his early 30's, that was so similar to her husband, Mike. No, Mienn, not here in all that crowd. You won't cry! You are strong! Mienn hardly kept her tears from falling down. She tried to get the dark past off from her mind and figured it would be a good idea to talk about something better.
"So Mister Minot, you remember the last rite in the church, I brought a cake with me but then I had to leave early because of some problems? You all enjoyed the cake I hope... Oh you must be hungry. I bought some biscuits, it must be here..." Mienn fumbled in the shopping bag for a while and found her favorite cocoa biscuits and a new colourful plastic plate that she liked so much and bought to use in breakfasts. She emptied the biscuit pack to the plate and served to the pastor and some people near there. There were 2 biscuits left when Mienn saw the little guy in his puberty and she rushed towards him, he needed to eat something for sure. "Hey little man, I am Mienn, what is your name? You are in my group, right? You must be so hungry, here eat the biscuits." Mienn patted on his head gently. He must lost his mother and dad, she thought and felt his pain.

The man had a fag, but no light. Shame. "No, we're not allowed fire in here. They took my lighter away. My shoelaces as well. Stupid ain't it?" He handed the cigarette back.
"The name's Jay by the way. What you say about the brawl may be true, have been hearing this myself since day before yesterday. Thought it was some bloody rumour, but no it seems now." Jay introduced himself.
"Kent." He introduced himself, offering his hand.
"They should let you out now. The infection is spreading and it is no time to be locked up for a petty brawl"
Kent nodded. "I've tried getting out but they all seem to be busy." He muttered.
"HEY YOU! LET ME OUT!" He shouted at a passing cop.

The reactions from the people were as how Dominic expected, people were dying and he was giving out a sheet. One of the men, military as he said earlier turned towards him and demanded answers. "listen mate, your guess is as good as mine but for now could you please calm down until WE understand what on earth is going on here" replied Dominic, his temper growing. Dominic was worried about his brother Brian, he had rushed home earlier to his kid and wife. Dominic just hoped he was alright. "I haven't even been charged!" yelled someone from the cells. The cells were meant to be cleared today Dominic turned around, surprised to see a man in the cells. " Wait there" he half shouted half spoke to the man. Dominic jogged towards the front table and retrieved the jail keys.
Once he returned to the keys he saw the prisoner and another man talking, unlit cigarettes in their mouths. Dominic pulled out a lighter and handed it to the Indian man with a wink. As he opened the lock to the cell, a loud scream erupted from the front of the station, followed by growls and other screams. "oh hell!" yelled Dominic, even from here he could see those...things. Biting and scratching people, screams and chaos erupted through out the station as the biters worked their way through. "FOLLOW ME!" he roared to the group before him as he led them to the back of the station.

Charlie simply nodded, Glanton seemed like a friendly man, not really all that much older than himself. Not wholly listening to him, in a bit of a daze Charlie followed him to a couple of seats. Looking down for a second it seemed that he was offering him some kind of seeds. "I guess chocolate's a bit much to hope for right now? But thanks." And just sat there quietly munching on these, not very fulfilling but it was something.

He heard a little bit of commotion and suddenly a woman was standing over him, speaking altogether too fast for him to make out in his state. Charlie thought he heard a name, and then a couple of biscuits were pushed in front of his face, jackpot! "Oh hi, I'm Charlie. You'd really give these to me?" Taking a bite out of one he smiled, "these are delicious! Glanton you have the last one. Thank you very much, Meena was it?"

Suddenly things were happening, he couldn't really see what from where he was, but the man in charge of the group was telling them to move. So he got up and followed, accompanied by these two kind strangers.

Boris calmed down, realising his anger would get them all nowhere. As the zombies broke in he raised his fists and shouted to them "Go, I'll hold them for a minute!" He could fight well with his fists and hold them back allowing the others to escape before he gave flight.

"Go, I'll hold them for a minute!" Yelled the military. Dominic turned around swiftly, he pulled out his personal five-seven with laser sights, "HEY!" he roared to the military, once he had his attention he threw his gun towards him, "FOLLOW WHEN I SAY SO!" he roared as he went beside him, his baton already in hand. "Go for the head.... it works in movies" he said to the man.

In response to his call, a cop jogged over and unlocked the cell door, as well as handing Jay a lighter. Suddenly screams erupted from the station's entrance.
The cops scrambled, and tried to fight their way through the crowd to the doors.
Kent stepped out of the cell. He gestured to Jay. "Want to help?" Turning, he cracked his knuckles and ran towards the crowd, trying to make his way towards the rotters.
He didn't know much and wasn't armed, but knew how to handle himself in a fight. He could do this.

Boris caught the gun and saw the man as he made his way to the crowds. He grabbed the man's shoulder spinning him round and told him "Go. There are too many. You'll get yourself killed." With that he turned round and lifted up the gun and checked the magazine. It was full, so he had twenty bullets to make it count. He took the pistol in the correct grip and aimed down the sights with the air of a man who'd been doing this his life, which he had. He took aim at the first zombie as he had decided they were and fired. The first bullet cracked across the room and smashed out the zombie's brains who promptly slumped down dead. "One down, two hundred to go." he grunted to himself. Realising he had no hope of taking them all on, he backed up slowly towards the door, motioning for the police man to follow. "If we make a wall, then we can block their advance whilst the others get out." He said to the man over the chaos.

The prisoner Dominic freed was moving towards the crowd when the military man stopped him, "Go. There are too many. You'll get yourself killed." said the man, he spoke the truth in Dominic's eyes. "You, listen. Get everyone out of here, see that door.."Dominic pointed a doorway a few meters behind him"... go through there, follow the corridor till the end, then go right. It'll take you to the car park, there's a SWAT van.... with a smilie face for registration plates, the keys are in the ignition. Get everyone in the van.... We'll follow behind" said Dominic, he turned towards the indian man, "follow him, MAKE SURE THEY ALL GET OUT!" emphasized Dominic. "NOW GO , FOLLOW HIM" he roared to the group.

Glanton rushed towards the exit with the hope of salvation. In the hurry he tossed his biscuit and rushed for the door. Upon exiting he realized he had forgotten about the boy and the gal he had just met he searched franticly for the boy and the woman. He found the boy close by and reasured him it would be safe. "Charlie!" he exclaimed. "Have you seen Mienn?!"

Boris listened at the man gave instructions, all the while keeping an eye on the zombies. More were turning as they were bitten. A zombie lurched out at them and Boris fired, exploding it's head.
Eighteen, he thought. Every bullet counted now. As another came towards him, he pushed it away with his legs and fired a bullet through its head. "come on...." he muttered to himself, still retreating backwards.

"I thought she was right by us..." Charlie looks around a bit confused, not able to make out much among the chaos and confusion that has dawned upon the police station. "Should we keep going? She'll catch up... right?" With that he heads in the direction indicated by the leader of the group, trying to make sure he stayed near to Glanton. He couldn't afford to lose anyone else yet, even if he had only just met them.

"Oh hi, I'm Charlie. You'd really give these to me?" said Charlie while taking a bite out of one he smiled, "these are delicious! Glanton you have the last one. Thank you very much, Meena was it?" "You're welcome, and it is Mienn, not Meena" said Mienn with a smile. There was something cute about Charlie, made her want to pinch his cheeks. "And I guess you are Glanton." said Mienn while thrusting out her hand towards him to shake hands. Then she heard a scream, now they were here. She rushed towards the pastor and said "We must get out of here, let's go!" then she linked into his arm and got in the crowd rushing towards the back of building then heard a voice that was shouting her name, and it was for sure Glanton's voice. Mienn shouted back. "Glanton I am alright, don't worry, I am with the pastor." Then she heard a couple of gunshots. Mienn couldn't help but scream. "We have to get out of here immediately" she said and holding Mr Minot's arm, she split up the crowd and rushed towards the exit.

Jay shook Kent's hand and smiled. Dominic, the guy who had been handing out the forms, jogged over to them and handed him a lighter and a cop nearby came and unlocked the door or the cell holding Kent. Suddenly screams erupted from the front of the station, startling Jay. Kent acted faster than him, he gestured to Jay. "Want to help?" Turning, he cracked his knuckles and ran towards the crowd, trying to make his way towards the rotters. Everything was happening too suddenly for him to comprehend. He hesitatingly followed Kent toward the front of the station. Dominic, the form supplier, stopped them a few yards ahead. "You, listen. Get everyone out of here, see that door.." Jay heard Dominic telling to Kent, pointing a doorway a few meters behind him "... go through there, follow the corridor till the end, then go right. It'll take you to the car park, there's a SWAT van.... with a smilie face for registration plates, the keys are in the ignition. Get everyone in the van.... We'll follow behind". He then turned towards Jay and said, "follow him, MAKE SURE THEY ALL GET OUT!" emphasized Dominic. "NOW GO , FOLLOW HIM" he roared to the group. Jay wasted no time. He knew his fists weren't enough for the rotters and he sprinted towards the door yelling at the group, "Follow me guys! Dominic and Boris will follow us they said!". He entered the door and sprinted down the corridor, hoping everyone would follow suit.

Seth allowed himself to be escorted to the open seating, thankful for a chance to get off his feet. When offered, he gratefully accepted the biscuit. "You know we all love your baking, Mienn. Thank you for both the cake then, and the biscuit now." He watched with a smile as she proceeded to give out the remaining food to those around them. Even in a panic, the best in humanity always came to the surface. It was then that the humans that had caused the problem attacked. They appeared to be dressed up in zombie costumes and makeup. The wizened pastor just shook his head sadly...some people would do anything for a joke, but his had surely gone too far by now. The police began to shoot at the figures, killing several. Struggling to his feet, he cried out "No, stop you fools!" but over the gunshots his voice was lost. Mienn came running back to him and started pulling him away, where the police not shooting at the pranksters were guiding everyone to a bus, telling him they had to go. Doing his best to stay upright as the younger woman continued to guide him towards the vehicle, he continued to cry out against the violence. "They're only pretending...why are you shooting, stop this instant!" He couldn't believe this...why did they think this was more than a hoax? This was insanity!

As the local pastor cried out that they were only pretending "Pretending indeed!" Boris shouted in return "I saw them kill someone, rip him to pieces and then eat him. THEY WERE NOT PRETENDING!" He looked round to see another zombie approaching. The gun fired, the gunshot muffled to the level of a polite cough by the silencer inbuilt into the gun. The walker's head exploded and he pushed the body away with both hands. "GO!" He shouted at those still left "We can't hold them for much longer!" Even under the immense pressure of the situation his hands were not shaking, a visible sign of his combat training. As another zombie appeared he fired yet another shot and another head exploded. Fifteen, he grimly thought to himself. Fifteen shots until this pistol becomes an expensive club, Fifteen shots until we have to retreat, or die.
