No, it is not learning a secret. It's just a generic way of explaining why you get a bonus. It would be made up.

Level 3: Duellers weapons damage is boosted by 10%

I don't like this one. Other than it, I say everything else is alright. It gives an AGE OF EMPIRESish feel to the game.

Sad to say, I believe I actually voted no to this idea.

It's not that it's a bad idea, I just think it's too complicated and complex for the game...

I voted no also. I like it, but I dont really think its needed.

Read the poll: 'Would you like to see this in-game?'. Not 'Is it needed?'

I've read through the entire thread and I didn't see a point brought up. There was mention of undoin research essentially. Research concerning the bank; if that was undone what would happen. The bank would go back to lvl 10 right? what about the money that was stored there, would it disappear get automatically donated to town treasury or go back to the person's inventory?

Sorry if I'm not overly coherent.

This is a BRILLANT IDEA. Similiar to Research in Tribal Wars.

In tribal wars they try and make different worlds instead of making all these worlds the same. By having each world slightly different from the others encourages more players to join that world creating more interest and of course more revenue if these players are enouraged to PREMIUM their accounts.

I like the thinking like the reduction of LPs and such and since the devs seem quiet about this i think they may be working on it because this thread has been here for quite some time...

I think the situation is similar to leaving a town (or getting kicked) where earlier you had a bank at level X and then you have no bank, so the excess money would be transferred to the cash in hand of the player.

Like the idea, but I think that each town should be limited to 2 or 3 areas of research and should only get a choice in 1 or 2 of those.
Most bigger towns and cities end up as a centre for some specialist industry over time.
You may get an Army base, or Stock yards, or Railroad goods yard, or become THE place locally with all the best shops, or you may get a political administration centre etc...

Most often though any town or city will get known for 1 or 2 things. Towns get to be famous for something and it attracts more of the same.

Would be good if this could be brought in to the game and if you limit towns to specialising like that then people have to move around to get the various bonuses again.

Maybe you could set specific requirements for some building types as well. Population, Money, Resources, Fort ownership, Duelling record, Max distance to a specific job type.

Bambara, building off your ideas, I don't think a town should be restricted to 1 or 2, but if you max out 3 or 4, the rest can only go to level 3 or something...there isn't a town that hasn't tried other things when they become famous for something.

I like the idea, but they should add a new class for this: researcher

Bonuses:

Heal faster
Research faster (a 50% bonus to one of the skills needed for research)

i think 1 to 2 would be to littel out of the 10
