Question for new mr CM

So you say ur prebious games was forge of empires. Why does inno invest much more on that game instead of the west?

If it is all just for the money does inno make so much more money from the other games that needs to abandon west for so many years? I laugh to hear people pay for fog because i know its too easy to cheat in those games with an app that creates bot cities and give you free goods. I have a friend that was top 3 without paying any ingame money because of that app.

The west is still alive. Around 10 years ago was the golden era for browser rpg i believe but now almost all are dead. I think tw is one of the few most active browser games right now even though has lost hundreds of players, that still has a big fan base and many players that may one day return.

Finally, the west will never get new players unlike the other games of the company unless Inno creates mobile app (with 2-3 global worlds?)

**Congrats to inno for still making good money from this game though.

Is FoE not just a Tribal Wars clone - a mostly PvP based game? And like The West, PvP is where browser games make their money.
We have, at most, probably 250 PvP players on a world these days, and are bleeding players due to the imbalances created by tombolas.
FoE gets advertised and has thousands.
FoE also has an endgame and an incentive for new worlds, The West does not.

It's a shame how they don't/didn't make a mobile app for this game.

That's all they need but yea.
The game now "works" pretty well on mobile, but it has many basic features from userscripts missing, such as coloured text for leading battles, clothcalcs, better inventory, multi-purchase, market functions and quick-buttons.

Quality of life is so much lower on mobile and it could be fixed by adding essential script features to the base game.

I've tried mobile more than once and it was a mediocre experience (especially thanks to keyboard keep popping up, Fort battle movement and whatnot)

Many others have the same opinion too.

That's without considering scripts and all.
Then it becomes even worse.

They wont create mobile app because its not worth it anymore.
I believe it still is but they don't care what we think sooo..

They wont close this game because it makes them money while they invest 0 time/money into it.

You can close the topic mr cm i answered all the questions
My question is if grepolis and forge of empires make so much more money that they are worth so much more to invenst. And as i said its so fkin easy to cheat in those games. I have a friend that was number 1 in a world because he bought that bot app with 10 euros.
Look at tribal wars. Totally dead game for example.

And i dont understand how they stop investing in a game, the west, that has/had so many active players and makes so many money.

-edit: the game has stayed the same so many years because of no mobile app. They should have done it five years ago. But i know you only want new fort fight sets haha

My opinion is that PvP in version 2.xx is more casino than game, and that's the decision that someone took at some point. The first tombolas must have made astronomical amounts of money compared with just buying premiums, and they decided that would be the development focus, instead of game features.

Anti-consumerism made all of the customers leave and it is now too big of a task for the small West team (afaik there are 3 people working on this game, 2 of them part time devs) to correct the mis-management of power creep in a timely manner.

Also it's just as easy to cheat in this game, event worlds on other servers are plagued with bots.

Bots? Or you mean multis? The other games like forge of empires there is app with programmed bots to gather and send you goods. Very easy to program.

Maybe inno agreed with other companies to stop develop browser rpgs? Or is it a coincidence that all browser rpgs died 5 years ago? The only 2 brpgs i know that are not dead is this and torncity. (The second gets bigger and bigger because they actually care about the game)

I agree with the rest of course and maybe its us players that are to be blamed for the results after all

EDIT
The mobile app is a different discussion my main question for mr new cm is about inno business choice

I checked 2 foe worlds (out of 17 they have in .com) and it had 84k players, second one had 62k. Yes, it makes much more money than the west and it worth investing in

Compare those games before 2015 they were about same players. Compare them 2015 and after well Grepolis got mobile app and so much more content while tw nothing but clothes which made game worse. Check tribal fight got mobile app but has ten active players hahaha

This might sound like a conspiracy but anyone played/remember zombie pandemic? Game is probably the most biggest browser rpg of all time. Millions registered and hundreds thousands active players. And one day at 2014-2015 they anounced they will close the game. And maybe inno got scared and followed that path too because dates are the same.

I don't know. Maybe it is an unfair question to ask the new Mr? Is it like asking what does Michael Zillmer have for breakfast usually? Who can only speculate but there has been some interesting points made in this thread. Could it be that the west still has merit not because it is huge money maker but because it is a part of the history in the story of how a company can go from a hobby to a major player in the game industry. Perhaps if development costs are kept low it can continue to exist for a long time to come even if it's not a big money maker. But I'm just guessing here without any knowledge of what conversations occur over lunch. As for new people arriving into the game would it be possible if players mentioned often on the forum things they like about the game in a good way and resist as much as possible what is disliked? That goes along way to bring in new people? Expectations of bringing those numbers up to the high levels of Forge of Empires might be unrealistic. I don't know. It's above my pay grade.
