So far the church is not useful. I suggest a randomised reward for prayers. If one prays the player could win a skill point. It should not be won each time but something to make it worth doing/encouraging.
some people think that praying increases your chance at finding objects when you do your job.. but yeah go look at the other thread if you wanna find out
