An hour is nothing. Wait until you need a union flag, ring, or handcuffs. What do you do while you work? Whatever you want to do.

Adventurer

Hi. Ive just started playing the game on world 10 and want to pick adventurer.

Can anyone explain to me what the differences are between these, what they do and how it will affect my game play?

Adventurer/Trapper
Adventurer/Hider
Adventurer/Swimmer
Adventurer/Trader

Are there any other combinations possible and what do those do?

Thanks.

It's mostly just a matter of jobs. Trapper is good at all levels for XP and mid to high level for cash and luck, although you generally switch to shooting after hunting grizzlies. Hider is the best skill for luck jobs. They have many of the same jobs as trappers, but a lot are 2x trapping to 1x hiding. Swimming is really only good at low levels for quick early XP, but it sucks in the long wrong. Trader are good low level earners, with silver mining in the low 20s, but they have horrible XP jobs to get you there. They have decent high level jobs, but they usually use more useful skills like shooting or hiding as well.

Jobs

Filter the latter by skill and sort by XP, luck, or cash to find the best jobs with that skill or by difficulty to get an idea of when you get them, although 2x skills and other skills using the same attribute will make a difference. Some jobs have better gear than others as well.

adventurer trapper

Thanks. That was great advice.

So, for a trapper where would i focus my attributes and skills? I'm thinking dexterity with the trapping skill? and if I'm right there, is it just these ones and everything else can be at zero?

Keep in mind that I'm just at level 10 on world 10.

I'm sorry. I'm still a bit hazy on the game. I've only been playing for 4 days.

Thanks :)

That's right.

Adventurer/Trapper refers to an adventurer class which specialises in the Setting Traps skill. If you specalise to the exclusion of all other skills, you're a Pure Trapper.

A pure Hider would put all their skill points into Hiding and all attribute points into Mobility - and so on.

Going for a pure build has the major advantage that jobs which involve the specialist skill can be managed much, much sooner than if you try to balance your skills. The disadvantage is that you have to wait longer to complete some quests and you will probably be pretty bad at dueling.

On the whole, though, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages - although, obviously, that's partly a matter of opinion.

All quests requiring products (with a couple of special exceptions) just require the products you find on jobs and all "where do I find ______?" questions have the same answer. In this case you're looking for wood.

NEW Frequently Asked Questions > Items and Products

Q. How can I find <insert name of product>?
A. See West Stats product list.

Duels?

The only way to not be dueled is to not join a town.

Forgive my ignorance, but does that mean if you join a town and someone challenges you, you have to fight them? That's the way you make it sound. I want to join a town, but I don't want to fight. Are you allowed to refuse a challenge?

DeletedUser

nope dm.. you cant refuse a challenge, in fact you wont even know when you are challenged until you see the report that you have been dueled.

I had a question in regards to weapon purchases.
The above says soldiers may carry weapons 3 levels sooner...

Is that referring to character level or dueling level?
I've always assumed character level, but someone in game told me it is dueling level.... which is it.

I don't want to waste money on a weapon I cant use for 10 more levels as my dueling level is 10 levels over my character level.

How do I leave a town that I've already joined?

If you would have checked one of the other sticky threads on top of Questions, you would have found this: NEW Frequently Asked Questions.

Q. How do I leave my town?
A. Town Hall > Residents > Leave town (in the lower right corner). Keep in mind that each time you leave towns, two hours is added to the time you must wait to join another town. Make sure you travel to the new town before you join, so you can immediately deposit your cash in the bank and/or town treasury.
