Limit the Health Skill

Proposal

Regular players are killed quickly in fort battles and some have been giving up on fort fighting. This leads to having less and less fort fighters as more people stop going to battles. This could also lead to people leaving that world or possibly the game.

The game has many more aspects to it than fort fighting. So many people are skilled for various things and enjoy going to fort battles as another option.

So... basicly this is telling me you don't think Pure fort fighters should be much better at FF than a dueler for example. Yeah that makes alot of sense...

When Fort fighters get dueled they get massacred. Should duelers be nerfed?
HP fort fighters can barely do any jobs, Should they have extra LP added?

Yes Pure HP FF dominate fort battles. If you specialise for a certain aspect of the game you should be able to do well at that aspect

100% setting traps = pure trapper.
100% hiding = pure hider.
100% HP = pure HP.

One skill to rule them all, one skill to find them, one skill to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

why would anyone have pure job skills other than FMS or Trading?

Dueling and fortfighting are two separate worlds. Passive and active playing. Nonclicking and clickfest wannabe. Nonminigame and minigame. No item reward and item reward. Energy and nonenergy. Motivation and nonmotivation. Level controlled and nonlevel controlled.

There is no logical reason to taint fort battles with stuff from the current duel system.
I do respect your wishes, but I don't want any soft caps in fort fights and I don't want anything from the current duel system in fort battle minigame.
Besides, soft caps lead to undisclosed formulas. Do we really need another "secret" formula?

Umm, Joxer....

  • +1 bonus with one point
  • +2 bonus with 6 points
  • +3 bonus with 16 points
  • +4 bonus with 32 points
  • +5 bonus with 56 points
  • +6 bonus with 88 points
  • +7 bonus with 130 points
  • +8 bonus with 181 points
  • +9 bonus with 243 points
  • +10 bonus with 316 points

Diminishing returns IS a soft cap. lol, tainting it with dueling? This has nothing to do with dueling, but every single skill used for dueling and fort battles has a soft cap, except health, and yet health determines the outcome of battles 100 times as much as any other skill.

I dont support this. Being a pure hp soldier myself fort battles are the ONLY thing you can do ingame. The jobs are crap and you cant do quests which means once your pure HP your kinda comitted to fort fights.

This would also make the soldier class bonus useless and all that would happen is you will then have 6k hp adventurer tanks.

multiplied by 10 like normal = 1200 hp

wording on the soldier bonus will need a little rewording, but pretty much the same thing.

Why not just place a cap for the fort battle (hard or soft). So regardless of what your health is in the rest of the game, the fort skill formula (or another calculation, whatever) kicks in when you start the battle. And to avoid abuse, just leave your health at the end of the battle as wherever it is, and you can regenerate as per normal methods after the battle.

I really dont get all the lets cap hp business...
If someone wants to be pure hp let them
But, come a fort fight, if fort skills were more important, that hp wouldnt last long anyway.
In which case pure hp fort fighters would disappear, as it would be just as important, maybe even more important to have aim, dodge, lead, hide and stam skills.

As simple as that.

Making these skills actually count would then make different types of fort fighters, some who are good dodgers, some who are good aimers, good all-rounders, good leaderss etc.
It would make fort fights a lot more interesting and thus a lot more fun.

If pure hp and no dodge then guaranteed that every shot lands on you.
If pure hp and no aim then guaranteed you get no shots in...
Simplz

Surely peeps want to be able to be unique, if to fort fight you need to be as dull as possible and stack hp...

This would of course seem to be the most logical and common sense approach...which will no doubt be the reason why it will be the last approach considered.

=rice farmer;573178]Problem solved

x = # of skill points you dump into health
y = hp you get in a fort fight

multiplied by 10 like normal = 1200 hp

wording on the soldier bonus will need a little rewording, but pretty much the same thing.

This solves absolutely nothing.

A level 96 non premmie fort fighting build stark naked with 335 sp in health has 6075 HP.

You want to limit HP to 1200 with 200 sp in Health ????

This is not only not reasonable it is in fact punitive. I don't see this formula attracting much support even among those who favor something being done about the HP problem.

The other problem formulas such as this fail to take into account is that higher level players should be more "skillful" in their chosen profession (ie in this case fort fighting) and it allows the possibility that much lower level characters through placing their sps in HP are essentially as good as more advanced levels.

Neo's suggesting is a much better solution to this problem.

This means that if there is going to be a limit, it has to be on the amount of SP able to be allocated to HP rather than on max HP.

So it would still be premium soldiers > soldiers > other classes in terms of HP as intended.

I will vote yes on that. And I honestly don't think anyone that really cares about the game would vote no.

But please, this idea needs to be passed to devs as soon as possible. They might turn it down, they might accept it, they might redo it in some way they think is better than this, but they really need to know that the large part of community is not happy.
