" Good morning father " Aiyanna greeted her father who was sitting in front of there house. Her father was smoking his pipe while looking at a man in the distance. Contemplating why of all the men in the land her daughter manages to fall in love with a white men. Although he disapproved of it who did it to make his daughter happy. Add to the fact that he did help anyway he can. He waved his left hand acknowledging that he had heard his daughter and with his right hand got his pipe from his mouth and then spoke in a sturdy voice " Fetch you husband something to drink, he has been working hard on our fields since morning.. " After hearing her father speak she immediately left to gather some water from a near by river.
With a small pale in hand she walked by to the near by river to fetch some water, she could still remember how her husband ended up here and how she fell in love with him. It was on a nice bright morning same as this one when they went to the river to fetch water as well. When they spotted a man bleeding to death. When they drew closer they saw the man had a gaping wound on his torso he had been shot with a gun. At first her mother told him that they should leave the man be and that he will no longer survive with his bleeding death was inevitable. But she choose not to give up. Bringing the man to the village the witch doctor did all that he could but still it took him a long time to save the mans life. He was asleep almost for months trying to recover from the wounds he had received.
Most of the tribesman was against the idea of a whiteman staying in their area, but as soon as the Chieftain Kitchi the savior of their tribe approved there was nothing that they could do.
When the young man awoke they tried to ask him questions. Where did he come from?? what was his name?? but to no avail he could not remember anything. It even seemed like he could not even understand most of what they said and most of what he understood was mostly trough sign language. From that day forth he was known as Bilagaana also known as "White man" he was baptized as on of the Indians names.
From then on he tried to help every little way he can and they also thought him how to speak and works he can do. Aiyanna was the one who helped her the most not out of pity but out of love, as the days passed by Bilagaana feeling for her grew as well. Although the father saw this he was not against it for her daughter happiness and also what really cemented this was an incident that happened when one of the cowboys who was getting grain and corn from them saw the white man they got scared and ran away. whatever his past maybe will really help us he thought to himself.
So after a few months they were married and they lived happily ever after.
After getting water from the river she brought it to Bilagaana and made him drink. while he was drinking she wiped sweat from his face. " Why don't you rest inside for awhile? " she said with a concerned face " you have been working all morning, and the sun is already high up and it is about time to eat.. clean up and meet me in the house.. " She said while making sign language, as she know even thou he has been with them for quite sometime he still is not proficient with speaking their language. He smiled and kissed her on the lips and left going to the river.
She too kissed back and after awhile she stood up went home and prepared a hearty meal knowing full well that her husband would go home dead tired and hungry.
Bilaganna took his time enjoying the cool water on his face while he took a bath and contemplated how good life was, before he was always wondering where he came from and what happened to him. But now he was content with what life has to offer. Although there are times that he would dream of a strange place he always dismissed the thought. As his wife always comforted him.
After getting cleaned he went straight home, on his way he managed to pass by an old lady with her son who was carrying a big bundle of wood. seeing that he was having a hard time he offered to lend a hand.
The villagers thou at first was really against it, now fully accept him being part of the tribe. He was really helpful and did everything he can to help the tribe.
Upon reaching home he was invited to seat down already as food was already served " So Bilgaana how goes the crops " asked the chieftain as even since he came here and was able to he was in charge of the family crops and most of the other as well. He tried to grasp what he said and with what little he can reply he said " They are good, We will be abundant in them. " The chieftain was happy but made sure not to show it. " We are lacking in some supplies we might need to send you out to get some supplies in trade for our crops. " Bilagaana nodded " I understand chief " Chief gave out a small smile " Call me father inside the house, you are not another person here but the husband of my daughter " Bilagaana smiled back.
It was true they did lack in some supplies. That means he would have to lead another caravan to look for more supplies hopefully they could find good supplies.
After eating Aiyanna and Bilaganna enjoyed some quite time together by the grass the lay down next to each other in quite solicitude.
