ooooooo VIVALDI FTW! The emotions and memories that his music call to mind is always so extremely, well, without seeming like a pun, vivid.

You've never heard of Anthrax as a member of the Big Four of Thrash Metal? Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer? I'm the Man, Caught in a Mosh, Madhouse? Come on!!! Anthrax is epic as they are funny. You'll like em JR.

Hmm now that you mention it, it does seem vaguely familiar.
I'm sure I'll recognize them once I check 'em out. :)

Waiting for someone to post. I've had a pick ready for ages now.

Metallica

metallica-colour1758.jpg

Date of Formation: 1981
Type (Pre-Black Album): Thrash Metal
Members (the classic lineup):
James Hetfield
Kirk Hammett
Cliff Burton
Lars Ulrich
Years Active (as a good band): 1981-1986
Albums (the good ones):
Kill 'Em All (1983)
Ride the Lightning (1984)
Master of Puppets (1986)

You may ask, why is Metallica active 1981-1986? They still perform today and are still making albums. It's because when Cliff died, good Metallica died. ...And Justice For All was ok, but still. They went commerical, trying to get radio time. One may be a classic tune, but it SUCKED compared to Whiplash, For Whom the Bell Tolls, and Master of Puppets. Cliff Burton was the only bassist for Metallica and to me, Metallica died with him.

OMG.
Metallica. Are. Amazing.

They aren't disposable heroes, that's for sure (only fans of master of puppets will understand what I mean).
Seriously, they are one of the greatest metal bands ever, and the best of the "big 4" imo.
Burton was a genius.

Slayer's better. Anthrax has had singer troubles since the beginning. Megadeth is very good, and Dave is a reformed bag. Metallica was good. Then they made the Black Album. It sucked. Load and Reload should have just been Loaded as a duel CD like The Wall, Garage Inc. had a few good covers, St. Anger should've been burned with fire and then doused with holy water, and Death Magnetic was ok. With that, that's my opinion. Now, WORSHIP IT!!!! :p

DeletedUser8950

Black album was their best since mater of puppets imo:razz:
St. Anger sucked, as you said, and Death Magnetic, as you also said, was ok. Only track I enjoyed as such as all nightmare long.
But I can't agree with you about Black album. That was fantastic. Not quite as good as their stuff with Burton, but still excellent.
Megadeth are not better, period. The only one in the four I feel is at the same level as Metallica is Slayer, who are also amazing.

Metallica... hmm haven't listened to them for a long time.

I'm doing some Guano Apes and what not these days.
"Going back to my teens" so to say.

Cliff's death is some strange if you ask me..
But metallica sure is/was one of the greatest bands of all time!
