Enylia, or at least a portion of it, was burning. People, not looking much like people anymore, marched in zombielike fashion from the city. It was a nightmare. Sam made the incredibly moronic choice to try to get Mandan and Sera to stay there while he went for supplies. Fortunately, Sera agreed with this analysis, insisting they come. Claiming Mandan wasn't useless was a much appreciated touch as well, though he had his doubts. So deciding, she shifted into a mouse and scaled his body to rest on his shoulder. Well…tactically, that was a good move, he had to admit. She was tickling his ear something awful though…moving carefully so as to not knock the shifted girl from her perch, he adjusted his veil to try to limit the whiskers' presence, then began moving towards the city…with any luck they'd be able to do something…anything…to stop this nightmare.

Seamus flew up into the sky and saw that the smoke would be blocking their view from whatever events were unfolding below, until one entered that pillar of course. As Seamus gained altitude, he saw both Kulos and Donna disappear within that pillar of smoke. It was impossible to tell what had happened to them in there. Lecta, on the other hand, was obviously safe, at least until he decided to increase the pace of his walking. Sure, anyone would be reluctant to help out someone who had just tried to kill them, but this was definitely not a normal situation; they could be the last people on the planet and every single one of them was needed for the future if that was the case. They needed to prevent as many human deaths as possible. They didn't even know if Sam and Mandan and Sera were still alive. It'd probably be best to find those three and explain the situation after this current event was dealt with. The situation needed to be resolved quickly, so why was Lecta taking his time with it? Seamus flew back and landed on Lecta's shoulder. Staring the dawdler in the eyes, well as well as a puffin could, Seamus let forth a mighty growl and flew off towards the cloud at great speed. Satisfied that he had sufficiently gotten the point of hurrying up across, Seamus flew straight into the pillar. Once inside, he could finally see what was really going on in this place. A group of people, no, they had to be Spirit Changers, Seamus recognized a few of them, were fighting off a much larger group of zonbis, maybe. Whatever they were, they went up in smoke as soon as they were fatally wounded. Despite this fact, the fight seemed difficult for the young humans, due to a combination of being greatly outnumbered and facing some sort of ranged attack of unknown properties. They obviously needed all the help they could get, and Seamus was more than willing to provide that help. Seamus looked for the person who appeared to be experiencing the most difficulty and swooped in to help out, transforming into human form and letting his sword fly.

As Mandan rearranged his veil in order to hide his facial features from her Seraphim tried her best to scowl up at the boy; a task made next to impossible by the mouse’s lack of facial features. Settling down by his collar Seraphim contented herself with watching the world around her as Sam and Mandan made their way towards the city; watching the procession of strange creatures with a sense of growing unease. It was these creatures that she’d heard marching towards Rakasi, not refugees like she’d initially believed prompting a whole series of questions within her head; what were they? What did they want? Why weren’t they attacking them? The one question she didn’t ask was where are the citizens of Enylia? As it was brutally clear that in one shape or another that they were all dead and that the cause of their deaths was currently marching down the road.
Once they had gained access to the city Seraphim felt a growing sense of numbness within her as she surveyed the charred and smouldering ruins of Enylia. She’d never been here before though she knew like every other Spirit Changer that this was the city from which she’d come from and thought she perhaps understood a little of Mandan and Sam’s despair over Rakasi's fate and the possibility that their parents had died within. Truth be told Sera wasn’t overly bothered about what may or may not have happened to her parents; she’d never met them and nor had she any memories of them, to her they were just names written on a scroll within the citadels archives and as far as she was concerned Mandan; the boy that had stuck by her and cared for her was her family, not some faceless people she’d never met. Their deaths although unfortunate and tragic like the deaths of everyone else within the city, if they had indeed perished were as remote and emotionless as that of a stranger’s. After all how could you miss something you’d never known?
She was suddenly pulled from her grim reverie by the sight a weapons shop; its windows were smashed and its door was kicked in yet it looked mercifully untouched by fire. Tugging frantically at Mandan’s veil with her tiny paws, even going so far as to nip his ear in order to draw his attention to the shop she wanted him to enter. If there was even a remote chance that she could find a suitable weapon within that shop then she wanted to take it. She was tired of being considered weak and defenceless, someone that needed watching and looking after like a toddler. No she wanted to be a Spirit Changer again and to do that she needed a weapon and a chance to learn how to use it without her sight. A tall order she knew, but one she desperately wanted to tackle. But first she needed to find the right weapon and that shop was as good a place as any to start with.

This was a disaster…a true disaster…Enylia was gone…the city vacant, fires throughout…Mandan couldn't believe how quickly two of the major cities of Irulia had been snuffed off the map. How…how could the Ultimate One think he was going to make a difference? Him, against something that had done this to two cities in almost no time at all. It was absurd. He was powerless to stop this. All he could do now was try to keep those he cared about safe…if he could succeed at that until whatever power had done this came for them…he could die content.

The dark boy was shaken out of his musings by Sera…wait, was she seriously biting his ear? Looking around at her rather sharply, he noticed she seemed intent on the weapons shop they were passing. "Ow…" he groused softly, before stopping and turning to face the place. It looked like it had been looted, likely by people desperate to save themselves. Still, Sera had mentioned wanting to try to find a weapon, so…"alright." He turned to Sam and murmured, "we'll be back in a minute," before heading into the shop…if Sera wanted to effectively defend herself again, Mandan certainly wasn't going to stop her.

(OOC: Actions have consequences y'all)
Alex's Group
Seamus' interruption was gratefully welcomed by the brown haired boy he swooped in to save, the teenager managing to pull away two attackers. As the two paired up and fought together there was no time to exchange words in the heat of battle, only grunts as they dodged the bolts of energy and sliced and diced their way through their opponents. Donna, meanwhile, was in her element. Her fists could deflect the projectiles and so she became a form of human mirror with the dark energy being hurled towards another member of their attackers as she made short work of those surrounding her. Kulos' intervention was equally welcome and together the group made short work of their attackers with the majority only sustaining slight injuries that would shortly heal. They had managed to all pair up, save for one lone boy, Tom, who was stuck on the far side of the battlefield. It was as the final member of their assailants was dispatched, however, that Lecta ambled upon the scene. As the final assailant floated away, a wisp of smoke, something ominous began to occur. The smoke from their fight began to stream back together. The blast of dark energy sent the Spirit Changers skidding backwards several feet and a large demon appeared directly in front of Tom. The Demon was an immense monster, as if someone had given a minotaur several years worth of growth hormones overnight. It's body was black but with red cracks reminiscent of Reibald (OOC: Which only Lecta and Seamus would recognise) covering the length of it's body. It's eyes gleamed red and an axe made of the same dark material as the beast itself formed in it's hands. Tom scrambled back, frightened of this monstrosity. The beast raised it's axe and Tom began to run. The axe came down, the sound it made as it passed through the air sounding more like screaming than whistling as if the souls of the damned themselves were calling out from within. It struck down and cleaved Tom directly in two, the boy exploding in a shower of blood as the axe drunk greedily. It gleamed red and appeared to grow in size. The Minotaur bellowed loudly, this did not appear to be a foe that they would easily beat.

Enylia
By the point that Mandan, Sera and Sam reached the entrance to Enylia the burned husks that they had seen had left the city, their column had paid them no attention and had continued on, marching in unison, headed west from the city down the main highway leaving the teens to only guess at their final destination. As they walked through the gates it appeared that little of the city had been left standing as it now lay a smouldering ruin. Even those buildings made of stone appeared to have collapsed in on themselves, the falling timber having displaced and knocked down walls. All that remained now was the wrecked city that lay before them as smoke drifted up from it into the sky. It would not take much searching to find the remains of an armoury, the stone building had lost part of it's wall but other than that it was mostly intact. They would not find a merchant's stall though or any great supply of food other than a few bits of cheese and some bread that they could scavenge. In the armoury, however, there was a veritable supply of weapons. Though Sera would not find any throwing disks or wheels, she would find a range of daggers, several hand and a half swords, one of which would easily fit her right hand. Finally, there was a steel shillelagh, not too dissimilar to Seamus' were it not entirely steel and having a sharpened point at the far end, making it more like a spear than a traditional club or mace. Once Sera had chosen her weaponry and they exited the shop they would hear the roar of the Minotaur from the far side of the city even though they could not hear it. As Sam drew his longbow and notched an arrow (which he had restocked up on whilst in the armoury) it became clear that the sound was not threatening them but another. That left them two options, should they wish to attempt to reach it. Either they could exit the city and work their way around, or they could try their luck and attempt to go through the burning remains of the city and pray that the fires had truly ended all across the city...

It seemed that Seamus's intervention had not been in vain, as he happened to save the life of a brown haired man, just as two of the Demon Changer attackers were about to bring him down and tear him apart most viciously. Of course, three more of the buggers were bearing right down on them, leaving no time to do anything else but fight. Seamus couldn't even say hello to the guy he saved. But, such was life when you were the last sane living creatures in the area. Well, allegedly the last living creatures in the area. If Donna and Kulos' s group were still alive, it was still possible that Sera, Sam, and Mandan were still kicking it somewhere. That's what they should do after this, patch things up with those three, and put this entire journey behind them. First, however, they had to put these things down in the ground, almost 2 metres down to be precise. That task was proving to be somewhat difficult, however. Sure, each individual enemy wasn't very hard to defeat; in fact they seemed to be killed at the slightest slice of the sword, cleave of the axe, strike of the fist. in essence, these things were fragile as glass. Unfortunately, they also had a vicious looking ranged attack. Seamus and the brown haired bruiser had managed to dodge them so far, but if the impact craters were any indication to go off of, they would have to be a moment too slow but once, and it was game over for the rest of time. Fortunately, that fate would have to wait, as the group struck down the last of the beasties, just as Lecta arrived. "Glad you could make it, Lecta," Seamus called out, exhaustion and frustration serving as a whetstone to his words. "That pelican get too tired, or did you forget how to do that?" Before Seamus could continue his ranting, the smoke rapidly evacuated the space, and compressed itself into the form of a giant minotaur, all black and crimson. "Where have I seen something like that before? You got any ideas, Lecta?" Gone was the anger, replaced by curiosity with a hint of anxiety. "That's right. Seems our old foe Raybee has made a grand entrance, with a brand new body. Oh, and a brand new axe that, Oh wow! That was bad." Seamus nearly recoiled in horror as the one Spirit Changer that had been separated from the group was quite violently cleft in twain by the minotaur's axe, the weapon absorbing the vital fluids, nourishing the foul beast, causing it to increase in size. "That is not good at all. Ok, new plan. Head to the ruins of Enylia. There we can use the narrow streets to get rid of its size advantage. There aren't any people there; they were all either killed or turned into zonbis. Lecta, we'll have a different task. We have to give everyone else time to set up their attack. We'll distract that thing and lead it to Enylia's ruins when everyone else is ready. For your sake, I hope you remember your pelican. Any objections?"

Running excitably back and forth along Mandan’s shoulders Sera gazed at the weapons lining the walls of the armoury as they entered; the smell of smoke strong in her sensitive nostrils. The majority of the weapons seemed to be swords, worse hand and a half swords! Weapons designed to be wielded by the fully grown men of the city guard not a teenage girl like herself who knew from brutal experience that such a weapon would leave her exhausted after only a few swings. The steel shillelagh, spear thing was just as bad as she’d struggled to use Seamus’ wooden shillelagh as anything but a walking stick. Meanwhile the knives were only really any good for committing murder with, or for delivering the coup de gras upon an already defeated opponent or so her weapons instructor had been so fond of telling them as he speared the head of a dummy through its visor. No, it was clear that she’d have to keep looking and hope to find something a little more appropriate for her size and intended purpose.
Leaping from off of Mandan’s shoulder and onto a nearby weapons rack she scurries along the dusty racking weaving in amongst the collection of swords before then descending down the shaft of a broken glaive in that gravity defying way that only mice seemed to manage.
She found it propped up in a corner, dusty, forgotten and abandoned the stave was around five feet long, painted blue and capped with steel. The paint was worn from use and bleached several shades lighter by the sun and there were also a few tiny spots of rust upon the end caps that she’d have to remove yet despite these faults it was like the weapon was made for her.
Shifting back into human form Sera rushes over to the weapon laughing excitedly as she did so, right up until she caught her foot on a carelessly discarded weapon causing her to stumble into a nearby weapon rack “It’s ok...I am alright” she called over to the two boys once the cacophonous clattering of falling weapons had subsided; her cheeks turning a colour most unbecoming for a blonde as she walked the rest of the way at a more cautious pace.
Grasping the weapon she takes the time to wipe away the dust and cobwebs that covered it before testing its balance and reach; apologising profusely as the experimental swing she took almost took off Mandan’s head before then returning to the boys with the stave and a dagger that she tucked into the sash about her waist.
Re-adjusting the strip of white linen about her eyes she was about to suggest that go in search of a inn that they could spend the night in when the air was split by a monstrous roar coming from somewhere nearby “Mandan...please say that whatever made that noise isn’t standing outside the door”

As Kulos finished off her current opponent and looked around, she noticed that the fight was pretty much over, and to her astonishment, injuries were on the light side. Given that they'd lost one before the battle had really gotten started, she had anticipated thankgoodnessitdidn'thappen more casualties. She herself had picked up a couple of scratches and could feel that her face was warm, everything felt tighter than usual why do I feel so sweaty, I wasn't working hard and it's not that warm..., and she was trembling and I'm not really scared, so what..., but she didn't think that was anything bad. Seamus had arrived and judging from his location, he'd begun helping to take care of the monsters attacking her group. She'd remember that, later. Lecta himself had only just arrived, ambling along at such a slow pace did he just not care or was this... that she had to take another look to make sure he wasn't some bystander. She'd remember that too, and not kindly. She was almost too busy surveying the battlefield, counting heads 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6... to notice that the smoke was behaving oddly, flowing together into a... a blast sent her tumbling, knocking her to the ground, helpless to watch as Tom nooooooooo... was cut down by an enormous beast with a two handed axe. Some analytical part of her noted that the thing kill had gotten bigger as its weapon drank from the blood kill it now, but the majority was intent on scrambling to her feet, struggling to draw her weapons it needs to die and rush forward to take that thing down. Fortunately for her safety, that rational part dragged her attention to what Seamus was saying plan, don't throw your life away, that they should get to Enylia, use the thing's size against it. The rage settled it's going to die, content with the plan and Kulos found herself yelling, "Enylia, go!" get Donna out, make sure she's safe as she dashed over to the two boys, trusting everyone still there to get going. His plan to distract the beast was sound, but... "Pelican's not a very agile flyer. Besides, Lecta can signal us that they're ready if nobody else can. Better if I stay and he goes." The sentences were panted out between hard, short breaths as she tried to get her wind back why am I so out of breath? and indirectly lied through her teeth to have a chance at the minotaur. Of course, those were all perfectly good, logical reasons for the change of plan, but the truth was, she wanted at that thing now. No running and waiting, regardless of how good the idea was for a strategy. She needed a fight. Now.

Sera took full advantage of their time in the weapons shop, eventually seeing one she liked after throwing herself from Mandan's shoulder. She shifted into human form and moved to it, though was forcibly stopped by another weapon, causing her to fall. With a strangled sound, the dark boy moved to try to help her, only for her to call that she was ok…well…he couldn't be exactly HAPPY that she'd fallen in a weapons shop, but she'd at least prevented worse injury to herself. She retrieved her weapon, a stave, and swung it experimentally, right at Mandan's head. With a yelp of shock he dove to the side, narrowly avoiding the blade on the length of wood. The blind girl apologized profusely as he picked himself up, to which he simply murmured, "I'm ok, nothing to apologize for."

It was then that the giant roar pierced the dark boy's ears, almost throwing him to the ground again in its intensity. A quick look outside told him whatever that was wasn't close. "No…that's not here…but…" he looked over at Sera a little guiltily. "I…think it's fighting someone…I…know I won't be of much use, but…I…don't want to run…I have too many deaths on my conscience…if there's a chance, even a chance, that I might do some good for once…" His tone was pleading somewhat, though it wasn't certain if he was asking her to understand, for her to talk him out of it, or for her to come with him. He probably wasn't sure himself. All he knew was that every moment he didn't make a decision was another that the people pitted against whatever had roared like that might die…

DeletedUser28032

The...whatever the hell it was...wasn't outside the shop but it wasn't far away and judging from what Mandan had said it was fighting somebody, and he intended to help them. It didn't take long for Sera to reach a decision and so using the end of her stave as a cane she confidently walked through the armoury and took Mandan's hand "ok then...lets go, and don't you worry about me, I'll keep up" she said knowing that to refuse him this would be cruel. He needed to find himself a purpose or at least something better that watching the blind girl as she grudgingly began to think of it "...just give me a heads up if I need to jump over anything or duck my head ok?" she said with a smile that she hoped would convey that she would trusted him enough to go running head long into he darkness.
Following him back out onto the street Sera held onto her weapon tightly and awaited her brother to lead the way. She would have to take a back seat on this one, she knew that much because although she was familiar enough with the weapon and had been taught to fight in the dark by her instructors she wasn't ready yet. But Mandan was and so she would follow him and try not to get herself or anybody else killed "OK Mandan, I am ready when you are"

Donna
As Seamus stated her plan and Kulos agreed to help join in in luring the beast towards the city, Donna nodded and shouted across to James. "Get the others into the city, we'll lure it in there and take it on!" James nodded in agreement and shouted, the message spreading to the others as they took off in either human or animal form, blurring towards the city. Suddenly, Donna became aware of a dark feeling in her soul and she instinctively shivered as she looked up and saw the beast standing there, it's axe raised. The axe began moving forwards and Donna instinctively grabbed Seamus and jumped, blasting a jet of water below them that sent the pair flying through the air, Donna landing on top of the boy. As she rolled off him, she sent a jet of water towards the demon, helpless to do anything but watch as the axe came down, falling through the air, with Kulos as it's target.

Sam
As Mandan and Sera agreed that they ought to go help whoever was affected by the source of that noise, the boy ran outside "I can get us there quickly, when I shift, I'll pick you up so that we can get through quicker!". Shifting into animal form as his weapons and everything came with him in this space (Sam had never quite figured out how that worked, but it wasn't his place to judge, he was no alchemist after all) he trumpeted to the others, placing his trunk curled up on the floor, he waited patiently for the pair to either step inside or for them to make their own way up onto his back. Should they step inside, he would gently close the trunk to the point where he was holding them but not squashing them and then, in a move that he had practiced often at the academy, placing them upon his back behind his ears, in place where they had a part of him that they could grab on to.

DeletedUser37114

As Donna yelled at the others to get going, Kulos smiled at the warm feeling spreading throughout her body seriously, she felt really icky, but at the same time really good. It made her happy to see Donna like that, and even if she wasn't running to safety get her to safety, she's still in danger here, she was here with Kulos, fighting beside her... It was only because she was watching her friend it's still not too late that she caught what happened. Donna looked behind them, grabbed Seamus why him?, and launched off on a jet of water, her terrified face looking somewhere above... Kulos slowed her perceptions and dove sideways into Lecta don't save him, he wouldn't do the same for you, knocking him down as the huge axe cleaved the dirt where she'd been standing. With the world spinning in slow motion around her, Kulos could feel every moment tick by ...but he feels really nice now... as she worked to control their fall, her muscles twisting as hard as they could so that they landed with Kulos on the bottom and she let go and the world snapped back into normal time... And Lecta was no longer against her why did you let him go?, rolling away well out of danger as she scrambled to her feet, trying desperately to get her wind back. She almost never used her ability that long, it was too draining to do so and she was certainly feeling it now. But still get back to fighting and distracting until they can kill... With a noise of effort, Kulos shifted into a nighthawk, as white as the rest of her forms, flapping to gain height for a pass next to the monster's head, aiming to rake at its ear make it feel pain. She wasn't exactly coordinating well with the rest of her allies, but there wasn't really time for any of that hurt it. The thing had started the party early and she was only too happy to oblige.

DeletedUser13682

It seemed like the plan was generally accepted, vice a few reservations about having Lecta act as one of the decoys, mainly from Kulos. It made sense; he had been slow in getting to the battle, and he wasn't going to say it, but he knew a few people would think it was Lecta's fault that the minotaur cut the boy in half. He'd have to stop that thinking, somehow, and also have a very long talk with Lecta about his recent actions. Presently, however, the pressing matter was dealing with the minotaur. "Ok, Lecta, go with the rest. Kulos, come with me. You'll have to take to the air; puffins are rubbish in the air. I'll cover the ground..." Seamus was knocked down by a force, then flung through the air. He landed hard on the ground, a bit too hard. The reason was made clear once Seamus had convinced his eyes to open. On top of him lay Donna, a few feet behind them, the minotaur was prepping his axe for another mighty swing. "Thanks, but get to Enylia with the rest. Kulos and I will get you enough time to set up." Course, Seamus had no idea how long it would take the group in the city to prepare their assault, but hopefully he'd give them more than enough time. As Kulos flew over the beast, Seamus threw a stone at it. "Over here, burger brain." Burger brain: not a good insult at all. He'd work on it for the next demon minotaur they encountered. Once the monster turned his focus on Seamus, he'd turn into a hedgehog and run about the area, leading the minotaur in circuits far outside the city.

After a long time, the repetitive motion of his footsteps drew Lecta to the remains of what seemed to have been some form of battle. All the Spirit Changers present seemed alive enough, which was probably good. The evil and impulsive Kulos also seemed to be alive, a fact which was perhaps not so inspiring, but it was what it was. It did not take very long at all for Seamus to start berating him for being so slow, with the other boy also mentioning that he would need to talk to him afterwards. Sighing, Lecta weathered the comments grumpily, staying silent throughout. His silence was however broken by a shattering blast, which sent him flying through the air a few metres. Landing heavily upon one of his swords, Lecta grimaced in pain muttering "Blasted healing inability." under his breath as he soothed his side. Despite his now painful left side, he rose to his feet quickly, only to see a strange beast slice its axe down the saggital plane of one of the Spirit Changers that had managed to isolate themselves. The site was far from appealing to the eyes, so Lecta avoided looking at the now lifeless body, and instead listened as he was first ordered to act as a decoy alongside Seamus, before Kulos interrupted and claimed his place for herself. Not that he was complaining. The girl seemed to do whatever she liked anyway.

With a grunt, Lecta quickly transferred into his hippo form and set off at a pace towards Enylia. It took him only a short while to reach the town, and once inside the gate he quickly transformed back into human form. Apparently, he was to make some sort of signal when they were prepared to confront the creature. With this thought in mind, Lecta found himself a vantage point from which he could view the area outside Enylia as well as watch the goings on in the town itself. Once on the vantage point, he surveyed the area below him, before shouting to his companions. "Once you are all ready, let me know and I will signal to the other two that we are ready to welcome them to our death trap!" This done, Lecta would draw both his swords and prepare himself to make a signal. Though what that signal was to be, he had no idea...

"Mandan, what does he mean he can get us there quicker?" Sera asked with a confused look on her face just as she heard the strange popping she'd come to associate with a Spirit Changer shifting into another form. It was kind of like the way your ears popped due to a sudden change of pressure though curiously she hadn't noticed the sound until after she had lost her sight.
Jumping out of her skin with the sudden and unexpected noise coming from so close by Sera clings to Mandan in panic as things she could neither see nor understand took place "Mandan what’s going on? What’s he doing?" she said in a frantic whisper as she squeezed Mandan's arm just a little too tightly as a result of her growing anxiety. Why would no one tell her what was going on or explain what they were going to do? Why did they always leave her to try and work it out for herself or worse let the entire event pass her by without her even realising that it had occurred.
Standing rigidly beside her brother Sera waited for someone to give her some form of guidance on what the hell she was supposed to be doing right now with that horrible feeling of being useless building up inside of her once again.

Sera was supportive of Mandan's drive to help, which he actually really appreciated…in addition, she trusted him enough to guide her through the wreckage of the city…he was a little overwhelmed by this…no one had actually trusted him like this before…always there had been the doubt that someone so quiet and brooding could actually do the task he'd been assigned, or the slight fear because of the same. He knew that the blind girl trusted him to some extent, and had wanted to help him when the world had dumped him into despair, but…this was something else entirely.

Sam then came and yelled something about being able to get them there quickly before shifting into a massive animal. Sera became concerned as she felt the change somehow, asking what was going on and gripped him tight enough to hurt a little. "He's…apparently able to transform into an elephant." The dark boy's voice was a little surprised…he hadn't seen this one before…probably because casual use would have wrecked their home. Still, he wasn't about to look this gift horse in the mouth. "Come on, Sera…lift your foot up high now, good, now the other…ok, don't panic, he's going to use his trunk to get us up it looks like, means he'll have to squeeze a bit." Mandan wasn't used to giving step by step instructions like this…he barely even gave anything at all usually. "Here it comes…" Once the shapeshifted boy placed them on his back, he carefully helped Sera into a place where she would be stable before sitting in front of her. "Hold onto me…I'll make sure we don't fall, ok?" He wasn't comfortable having her hold him…didn't matter if she chose shoulders, waist…that much physical contact was scary…he didn't want to, he…had to. She couldn't anticipate the turns Sam would need to make, and a bad balance could throw her off…he needed to stabilize them both. He had to do this for her sake…and he wasn't going to let this…horrible, terrifying, panic…oh…oh no…no…calm down…you can trust her…she won't do anything to you…you know this…she's just going to be holding you to keep her balance…you can do this…the dark boy hoped she'd lock him into his decision before his nerve broke…that would be embarrassing, and betraying her trust…but he didn't know how much longer he could bear the agony of waiting for it to happen.

DeletedUser28032

Why couldn't he just have said I am turning into an elephant? It would have made things so much easier and stopped her from looking so stupid, Sera thought to herself as she followed Mandan's instructions; lifting her legs with exaggerated care.
Despite the warning Sera still gave a short shriek of terror as she was lifted off of the ground; the girl losing all sense of where she was now that there was no longer anything solid beneath her feet. Sat upon the elephant with her legs either side of the creatures broad back it took little encouragement from Mandan for her to wrap an arm about his waist; her head resting against his shoulders as she held him tight with her other hand holding onto her new found weapon.
Unable to see where she was going, or how high up she was or if there was anything coming towards her Sera found the ride to be the single most terrifying experience of her life. By the time it was over she would be an emotional wreck; physically trembling against her brothers back repeating the phrase "never again, never ever again" over and over under her breath. It would also take several attempts for Mandan to finally convince her to release the death grip she had about his waist so that Sam could lower her back down onto the ground. From now on Sera would most certainly stick to walking.

(OOC: Doing a time-skip forwards to get the Minotaur into the city)
The Minotaur
As the group fled across the plains, the Minotaur roared in pain as Kulos attacked its face. The axe came towards her, the girl being able to easily dodge the clumsy swing. As Donna raced off towards the city herself, she saw the two continue, switching the Mintoaur's focus between Kulos and Seamus ensuring that it never stayed on one of them for long enough to set up a swing that would actually connect. And so they continued until they reached the gate. As it thudded forwards, it bellowed and smashed the arch of the gate before stepping through into the city. Now that they had something to compare the beast to, they could see it was as high as the stone walls that surrounded Enylia. As it thudded in, it raised it's axe to try to strike Kulos. Donna, however, had other ideas and a blast of water sent it's face spinning to the left. It's focused shifted, it raised the axe again. "Ok group! Now's our chance!" At this point, all of the members were within earshot of her shouting including (unknowingly) Mandan, Sam and Sera. "We've got ensure that this minotaur remains occupied whilst Kulos and Seamus figure out a weakpoint so that they can take it down. Go!" Suddenly, a barrage of skills were in the air and the minotaur was being assailed by chunks of rock and other such debris or weapons. It switched it's focus to another member of the group and brought the axe down, the member barely avoiding being sliced in half. The minotaur grunted and struggled for a second to pull the axe free before it wrenched itself backwards and readied the axe again, preparing for a second strike...

Sam
As he came to a stop, he gently picked up Mandan and Sera before placing them on the ground again, shifting back once he had done so. It was at this point that the minotaur came crashing through the gates. They were a short way away from it, maybe about a minute or two and so when he heard Donna shouting it instantly clicked for him. "Cmon guys! It's another group! They should have supplies!" He called out to the pair, excitement spreading through him despite his previous emotions. Drawing his rapier, he dashed forwards in time to watch the axe come down and then, as the minotaur prepared it's second strike he hurled his rapier into the beast's leg, causing it to roar with pain. Running forwards he grabbed his rapier before launching off of it's leg. As it came forwards to get him, he attempted to raise a wall to trip it but his efforts were met by the creature merely kicking through his measly wall. As he picked himself up, he looked up. It appeared he had become a target. As the axe came down he dodged sideways and, as it landed in the ground, he summoned a wall of rock to hold it firmly in position. "Go! Now!" He barked out the instructions, imploring the others to use the opportunity he had provided to swarm the monster and attempt to find it's weak spot as it was hunched over.

As she dodged the monster's repeated clumsy swings, punctuated by Seamus' distractions and her own swipes make it bleed at the thing's soft spots. It didn't take long for them to lure it into the city, where the rest of the group was laying in wait to start. Kulos started getting more aggressive and more enthusiastic why are you enjoying this so much? as it crashed through the gates, right up until she realized that the minotaur was raising its axe and she didn't have time to get out of the way. Salvation came in the form of one of Donna's water blasts that girl is amazing hitting the minotaur in the face. Kulos backed off, landing on one of the higher buildings to watch the assault and rest her tired wings what are you doing there's not resting in. She'd never flown quite this hard before, needing to dodge and dive constantly to avoid being taken down by the giant monster. She was shaking from adrenaline, half out of her mind with fear, but at the same time get back in there and fight that thing kill it make it hurt for all the people you care about... Pulling herself back together, she dove back into the fray, dodging her allies' projectiles and the struggles of the minotaur to land on its shoulder. She shifted back into her human form and began to dig and slice at the meat of the thing's neck important veins and arteries around the neck, carry blood to the brain, ready to jump away to the ground or back into bird form if she felt the thing trying to take her off.

Taking deep ragged breaths Seraphim did her best to calm down though with the sounds of battle coming from nearby, very nearby this was a near impossible task. Once again Sam had run off without them and Sera found herself trying to piece together what was going on using the fragments of sound and smell she could detect.
There were Spirit changers here, that much was certain even without Sam’s hasty cry she knew they were present. There was also something very large and very angry present giving of a stench of pure evil, something that Sera had never thought was actually possible until this very moment, a stench so vile that she knew that it would be etched into her memory for the rest of her life.
Instinctively knowing that now was not the time to be testing her fighting capabilities, Sera gives her brothers hand one final squeeze before then turning into a rather large silvery blonde wolf. She was rather proud of her Dire wolf. Her first form; the tiny blonde mouse had resulted in plenty of mockery from her peers but the wolf had put a stop to that…Julie had practically wet herself the first time that Sera had used it, not that Sera approved of scaring the pants off of the girls that regularly picked on her...well…maybe a little
As her eye sight cleared the stench of the Minotaur hit her now even more sensitive nostrils causing the wolf part of her brain to go berserk. Growling loudly as she raced across the open ground towards it. Her mind not even registering the girl stood upon the Minotaur’s shoulders as she used the beasts own arm as a springboard in order to leap for its throat hamstring it, then tear out its throat, that’s the way to take down big prey! Her mind supplied helpfully as her teeth sank deep into its throat, filling her mouth with the taste of flesh.
