The West – Indian Quest Contest!
Have you ever found yourself wondering what it would be like if, on top of all the engaging quest lines that we currently have within the game, you could be the one to design an entirely new, unique and exhilarating quest line that could become implemented into the game itself and available for all players to try out?
The West will be hosting an event like no other, held across all language platforms, whereby players will be able to submit their own unique quest line entries. The winning quest line entry will be implemented into the game for everyone to try out and complete!
You will, of course, be wondering how this competition is going to work. Well, carry on reading and all will be explained!
As stated above, the competition will involve the creation of an Indian-themed quest line. We will be opening a new section on this forum specifically for the purpose of the competition! To enter, you will need to post your quest line entries, one per player in the specified form, along with the Terms and Conditions acceptance statement. (Any entries made without this statement included will be disqualified.) The contest will start on the 19th of June, 2015 and will run for a period of two weeks. The closing date for entries will be on the 3rd of July, 2015, so you will need to work quickly to get your entry in on time!
Once all the entries have been tallied, we will open voting to the player base. This will happen on the 4th of July, 2015, which will give you the opportunity to vote on your favourite piece of work! Voting will conclude on the 8th July, 2015. The quest line with the highest number of votes from each language server will be declared the winner, and will then be sent to InnoGames, who will decide on the three best quest lines overall. (Please note that quest lines not written in English will be translated and this may affect character names, etc...)
The three chosen quest lines will be posted on the Beta Forum contest page on the 17th of July, 2015. From here, the final 48 hours of voting will begin. This phase will take place on the The International The West Facebook page. To vote, you will be required to click LIKE underneath the post containing the quest title and the link to that particular quest.
We will give out some really cool rewards:
1st place winner will get his quest line implemented into the game itself with his name mentioned. The player will receive specially designed Indian-style avatar and a unique item: the “Golden Story Book”, as well as 1500 nuggets and the “Storyteller” title in the game.
2nd place winner will receive a unique item: the “Silver Story Book”, as well as 1200 nuggets and the “Storyteller” title in the game.
3rd place winner will receive a unique item: the “Brown Story Book”, as well as 1000 nuggets and the “Storyteller” title in the game.
Language server winner will receive the 1000 nuggets, as well as the “Storyteller” title in the game.
Everyone who enters into the competition will receive a small gift as a reward for their efforts.
Quest line requirements:
Outlined below are the standards required for all quest line entries. (A full list of conditions can be read in the Terms and Conditions document.)
- Only “Indian” style quest lines can enter the Contest.
- Use the standard quest employers in the saloon.
- Use already existing places on the map. Do not add new places or characters.
- The Quest text should consist of maximum 100 words.
- The Quest finishing text should consist of maximum 50 words.
- ‘Requirement’ and ‘Reward’ (see template on T&C document) have to be filled out with at least a suggestion for both.
- Quest line should be designed for players of level 50 or higher.
- Quest line should consist of maximum 15 quests.
- The Entrant can only add one new item. Preferably as a final quest line reward. Promoter does not ensure that the item will be included in the way specified by the Entrant due to balancing and game design reasons.
- Entrants are not allowed to put any time or date restrictions on the individual quests or the whole quest line.
- No event quests (designed as a part of an event e.g. Valentine’s Day Event) will be accepted.
- No class specific quests will be accepted.

The following is required for each quest within the quest line:

1. The Promoter of the “Indian Quest Contest” referred to as Contest is InnoGames whose registered office is at Friesenstraße 13, 20097 Hamburg.
2. The purpose of the Contest is to create “Indian Quest Line”. The winner's quest will be deployed in the game.
3. The Contest is open to all registered The West players referred to as the Entrants except employees of InnoGames, the support team, their close relatives, or anyone otherwise connected with the company, and organization or judging of the Contest.
4. To enter the Contest the Entrant is obliged to acknowledge and accept these Terms & Conditions. Confirmation of acceptance will be made by the Entrant posting the following statement together with the Contest Quest on their relevant forum thread.
I have read and agree to the Terms & Conditions of the “Indian Quest Contest”.
5. Entry void of statement mentioned in 4 will be disqualified and removed from the Contest forum page.
6. With the T&C agreement statement the Entrant assigns copyright to the Promoter and agrees to the publication of the work in the game, on The West forums and in social media.
7. The Entrant bears full responsibility for the content of the publication and all costs associated with the Entrant’s preparation for the Contest shall be borne by the Entrant.
8. There is no entry fee, no purchase necessary nor signing in list to enter the Contest.
9. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same Entrant will be disqualified.
10. No responsibility can be accepted by the Promoter for entries not received for whatever reason.
11. Closing date for entry will be the 3rd of July 2015. After this date no further entries to the Contest will be permitted.
12. The rules of the Contest and Rewards:
- Quest line requirements:

- To enter the Contest the Entrant is required to go The West Forum with the use of the link and post the Quest line on the forum together with the statement mentioned in 4.
- The Entrants will go through a multi-stage selection process made by the Community and Promoter with the use of The West Forum and social media. Stages of selection are as follows:
- Stage 1: Community voting on The West Forum (04.07.2015-08.07.2015). There will be one Winner per market.
- Stage 2: Promoter’s selection (till 15.07.2015). Three best quests will go to the final stage.
- Stage 3: Community voting on the International The West Facebook page (48 hours, starting from 17.07.2015, 15:00 German time).
- Rewards are as follows:
- 1st place: the Quest line in the game, Entrant’s name mentioned in the quest, specially designed Indian style avatar, unique item: “Golden Story Book”, 1500 nuggets and “Storyteller” title in the game;
- 2nd place: unique item: “Silver Story Book”, 1200 nuggets and “Storyteller” title in the game;
- 3rd place: unique item: “Brown Story Book”, 1000 nuggets and “Storyteller” title in the game;
- Market winner: “Storyteller” title in the game and 1000 nuggets;
- All Entrants: small surprise reward.
13. Rewards are as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The Rewards are not transferable to any other person than the Winner. The Rewards are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any reward with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
14. The Promoter is not responsible for inaccurate rewards details supplied to any Entrant by any third party.
15. Entrants have to be aware that all market winning quests posted in any other language than English will be translated. Promoter does not take responsibility for the quest line’s character or mood change made through translation.
16. The Winner will be notified within 5 days after the final voting. If the Winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the reward within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the reward from the Winner and pick a replacement Winner.
17. The Promoter will notify the Winner as to when and how the reward will be delivered.
18. With T&C acceptance the Winner agrees to the use of his/her player name in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the Winner or any other Entrants will be used solely in accordance with current German data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the Entrant’s prior consent.
19. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these T&C without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the Promoter’s control. In other cases any changes to the Contest will be notified to the Entrants by the Promoter as soon as possible.
20. The Contest and these Terms & Conditions will be governed by German law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of in Germany.[/spoil]
