if i sell items in another towns store does that money go into their treasury?

Why is this so important? YES, a portion of the sale goes into the town treasury. A miniscule portion. Very small.

No problem -- not sure why they don't update the help section and/or FAQ sticky with it, though.

You misunderstood him TJ if he buys items it goes to their treasury, if you just sell the items only you get moeny from it.
