How do you beat Jacob in dule?

I fight melee and still can not beat him, what do I need? Or inprove on?

now, now, you should not post it here

but to keep it short, try to get some 'Dueling' clothing,

like the various Felt Hats, Black/Fancy the best'
Blue Shirt, Fancy Dress Coat,
Fancy Riding Boots/Brown Boots
a decent weapon,
Brown Shawl/Mexican Bandana

well that's actually the complete suit for a melee dueler - just grab a few pieces and try again. he's not that hard, really . . .

Also, change your stance from where he hits you. NPCs never change their aim.

Return to west stats, press continue. And look for the nearest town that gives you an invite.

just buy dodging gears ...
then go to report and change your dueling configuration based
on the report ...

if you aren't positive of his dueling set up, then wear all aim/appearance gear, and no dodging. stand straight up in each round. that way, you can learn exactly where he aims, and find out to your best ability of where he dodges to. using that, you should have no problem finding exactly how to set up. and as lycanzzz said, wear dodging gear.
