Golden Saber, Colt, and Gun set

At one time, the Golden weapons were the prime weapons to have, but now they have become so mediocre, that few in the newer worlds have quested for them. How about repurposing them so they are competitive with the uber-weapons now available, such as the Jaguar set.

Or, allow upgrading/enhancing the weapons thru nuggets or bonds.

Thank you

Perhaps the Shiny Golden Weapons can be upgraded to the Engraved Golden Weapons Set. Another lengthy quest or a nugget buy in. Nugget buy-in could have several levels for purchase. There could also be a skill level minimum for each upgrade.

And then once you have the engraved weapons you should be able to start over again from the beginning get your lump and after a lot of work get a second engraved, repeat to get a third and upgrade and then see how many people are willing to keep going to get level 2! It’ll take a lot of time And there won’t be many but when they do it might be worth it

It's been a long time since we had suggested an update on 'em
Who knows maybe they will now?

Start with adding some Resistance (preferably Sector wide) , then we shall see

With the level of work it would require to get the weapons TWO MORE TIMES would not be worth the usual 10% upgrade. It would have to be at least a 25% upgrade, preferably a 50% upgrade for such tedious work.

agreed. though if stats are chosen carefully the L1 upgrade cold be relatively large and if it's a big damage rifle the L2 could be worth it to some

Here is an idea for the upgrade to the ENGRAVED GOLDEN COLT:

1) Visit the Sheriff... he tells you of a craftsman that performs excellent engraving on Firearms. Craftman located at a Questgiver.

2) Visit Questgiver... find craftsman. He agrees to engrave your Colt Revolver, but payment is to be building materials needed for his shop and home. You must collect 300 wood, 100 nails, 200 granite blocks, planes, hammers, saws, wire, etc.

3) Return to Questgiver with above materials... he informs you that his daughter is missing for several days. She likely ran off with Snake-Eye Joe. You need to find where she went. Look for daughter

4) Daughter is at a questgiver, but the location is not revealed until player is at the right location, and has clicked on the correct lock icon. Lock icon changes into daughter. Snake-eye's gang is there with the daughter. Discussion with daughter reveals she was forced to leave with Snake-eye or he would kill her and her father. Snake-eye is hiding in another location you must locate.

5) You locate Snake-eye by traveling to each questgiver and opening the correct lock. Snake-eye agrees that he will release the daughter if he is paid $100,000.

6) Go to craftsman, relate news. Craftsman has little money. Insists that you must pay the ransom and retreive the daughter before he will work on your colt.

7) You raise the funds, go to Snake-eyes hideout. Snake-eye is not there, but his gang is. You duel the gang, and lose. They steal the ransom money from you. You are KO.

8) You raise the ransom money again. You go to the daughter's location and find Snake-eye. You tell Snake-eye of the gang's robbery of the first ransom money. Snake-eye takes the second ransom payment and lets the daughter leave. Daughter refuses to leave, and reveals that she was not forced to leave her father, and that the kidnapping is just a ruse to get money. You duel Snake-eye. You may win or lose. Each lost duel is a KO for you and you must return after 24 hours.

9) Eventually you win the duel against Snake-eye, retrieve the money and leave. You take the daughter to her father, the craftsman.

10) The craftsman agrees to engrave your revolver.

I like it but I feel like it should involve a comparable “choice” quest like the shiny (FF, ADV, or long job) and a low drop rate quest like the classic (1% chance with A particular combo of expensive shop gear That needs to be discovered at a particular job that needs to be discovered, with an LP threshold that requires most players to reskill somewhat given the gear requirement)

(Eg highwaymen with an LP requirement that given the required quest gear needs at least 100 points in vigor. This would also be a huge clue as to which jobs to try)

The Golden weapons and the Shiny Golden weapons have become mediocre in their damage levels and added skills. They are difficult to acquire, being the reward of long involved quests. They are not upgradeable, and so are easily outclassed by a single upgrade of several other weapons, such as the Lasso, J Cortina, and Jungle Warrior weapons, which are available for purchase on the town market and sometimes in the mobile trader.

In order to maintain the "mystique and uniqueness" of the Golden weapons, they will require either repurposing to a greater level of power and skills, ability to upgrade in a unique way, or a third quest set to the Engraved Golden Set.

In the Adventure game, a player from Idaho was using the Shiny Golden Gun. I commented on it. He (Batman) replied: "compared to the other sets, such as J Cortina and such, it is complete trash".

Its a shame to have what is supposed to be the ultimate weapon set, acquired only by dilligent questing and luck, unpurchasable and not upgradeable, to be outclassed by upgrading lesser weapons thru the market. No wonder there were only 6 other players that had achieved the Golden Gun when I earned it.

Quests to find the Golden Clothes Set would be fantastic. Golden Coat, Hat, Scarf, etc..... attributes heavy on dueling skills, similar to how the J Cortina set is heavy on Fort fighting skills.

After much thought, I think that the Golden Clothes Set could be a drop only from Fort Fighting under very strict conditions. Such as: 2 shiny weapons equipped, min # of hits/dodges, victorious side, online all rounds. The set should be upgradable by obtaining three or more from the drops, but would not be saleable or auctionable. They should give the wearer great attributes in all FF and Dueling skills.
