Going The Distance!

anyone have any knowledge on the dimensions of the map (like the distance in miles)
would like to know for the Travelling Set medals:
"And I could walk 500 miles, ..." - Walk 333 miles on foot
driver through field and valley - Ride 666 miles on a donkey
From east to west, phew! - Ride 1332 miles on a quarter horse

my only guess is that a "county" is...
that either it's: a county is 1 mile in vertical length (making the entire map 4 miles vertically)
or otherwise it's: a county is 1 mile horizontally

"The town that owns the biggest fort in the county can name the county."
so I'm guess that "Briscoe County" is a "state" of the US

okay so the vertical length of 4 countys is the same as the horizontal length of 3 countys (if my eyes are correct, 9 countys makes a square... correct my eyes if they're wrong)
the entire map is 4(v) by 10(h) county sections BUT if 3(h) is = to 4(v) THEN it could be 4(v) by 13(h)

I say that one side (vertical or horizontal, it doesn't matter) is at the very least one mile in length
OR just maybe, it's a time thing - like "hours"... to get your driving license (maybe it's an hour a mile, or 1/2hr, maybe even 15min... just being hopeful)
