getting paid for jobs

I have noticed that i get paid for some jobs and others i don't, why is that and which ones pay and which ones don't and how i find out which ones give experience points and which dont?

Taking a job that gains less than like 3% in the $ or exp category and working for only 10 minutes at a time might not yield much, especially with very few labor points.

Every job produces money, but you might need to work 30 or 60 minutes, or increase your labor points.

ok so how is this explained then

On 1/3/10 at 2:59 PM
i was attacked leaving me with $60

i have since done 3 setting up telegraph poles
On 1/3/10 at 5:45 PM
On 1/3/10 at 7:45 PM
On 1/3/10 at 9:45 PM
with a labour point total of +45

and not been attacked since or bought anything
i also have all the bonuses turned on

so how the hell have i only got $62
