The player must be at last the age of 16 years old to create and use and account.

If u need to be atleast (at last??) 16 years and older like u post now in the rules.

How are you going to check if ppl are really 16 year and older.
And how is inno going to say u need to be 16 years and older?

It is forbidden:
  • to violate or harm other players physically or mentally.
  • to name your Town with offensive or inappropriate terms.
  • to glorify terrorist acts or persons.
  • to insult players via the in-game communication system.
  • to post chain letters or spam mail.
  • to post advertisement links and referrer-links.
  • to impersonate a member of the team.
  • to discriminate against players based on, but not limited to their origins, race, religion, creed, sex, disability, age or any relevant category.
  • to threaten another player in order to obtain in-game favors or premium currency.
  • to mask profanity with symbols.
  • to mask insults with figurative language.
  • to publish any in-game support correspondences provided by the team on a public domain.

Also with rules like u just put. How are you going to deal with all the gaslighting that has been happening around the game.
Because grey areas are massive in these rules and have been ignored mostly through out the game. mostly been up to the mod to decide.
And with the current amount of mods. there will never be a fair judgements. because u can't spend enough time to fairly judge.
What is an attack on someones mental? It is diffrent for everyone else. And u need to know your community for that, when in the current state Mods need to be distant from their community in their respective worlds they need to judge.

Regarding, §4) Code of Conduct:

"to name your Town with offensive or inappropriate terms."

Although what I'm going to suggest may be implied with this point, I would humbly suggest this bullet point be revised to clearly include Fort and County names as well as town and fort descriptions.

Thank you.

This is unenforceable, and a massive chunk of the player-base started playing when they were under 16, but I understand the liability issues with children playing what has become a casino simulator.

I'd also like to see towns being fully responsible for moderating their own private town chats, while we're looking at rule modifications.

Now that 16 age is being "enforced" (or everyone accepted to be over 16) could you stop giving penalty points for every single dumb reason since all players are accepted to be "adults" now?!

uff, lucky for me and some others that i know, INNO did not specify the max age limit to be able to play this game. Are people with dementia allowed in? Just asking as i want to know if i should quit myself when the day comes before i get forcefully removed when INNO decides that i am good enough to only do simple crossword puzzles and watch soap operas the whole day.

This thread is not about how InnoGames will apply the rules, it is just about the changes in the rules.

The old rule mentioned already that "The game is intended for all people above 16 years old". This article has been just rephrased to make it more clear.

Thank you for these feedbacks I will put them on discussion for the next reviews

P.s. Stay on topic please. Off-topic complaining about the game/how the rules are applied and so on will be deleted.

It is forbidden:
  • to violate or harm other players (...) mentally.
(Although it's not a new change,) This also seems unenforceable and subjective. I could say I, and several others, were placed under severe mental duress by the actions of other players towards fort battles on a particular world - could I have gotten them banned all along and saved that world, just because I didn't like how they played and it stressed me out?

What's an example of mentally harming another player?

In general the rules are quite good, minus the unenforceable ones and the rules there to cover the lack of a mechanic in the game.

is TW CALC now a forbidden script because of the wardrobe feature?

and "noob" is not a respectful taunt, newb is but noob is most definitely considered an offensive insult.

I'm not discussing how the mod team is or should be moderating. I'm just showing how lacking the wording in these rules are. or how they can be interpreted. There are so much grey areas. that if u want a community based game, with moderation. make these rules clear, and easy moderatable.
These rules are so free that allmost every situation what will arrive instead of being a clear ban/giving points/ignoring. it will neeed the attention of a mod to judge the situation.

This thread is not about how InnoGames will apply the rules, it is just about the changes in the rules.

But the change of an age limit. what is now clearly stated, u can only enforce when the person who signs up get clearly notified.
Even in the Terms of Agreement / Privacy agreement. There is no mention of needing to be 16 years of older. when u sign up.
So the moment u sign up, u make that whole rule invalid. It can be a rule in game, but the moment it's not brought up when signing up. that won't apply. Basic Law Rules.

to violate or harm other players physically or mentally.
U can't abuse the player physical, or u need to visit them personal. In game it's pure mental.
If physical is duelling non-stop, it's a game mechanic and if u ko that person. he gets dueller protection.

but define mentally. because u can state an oppinion to start a discussion. and the other thinks that is offensive, even though that was the point to discuss.

to glorify terrorist acts or persons.
Isn't this hard to manage. Because a person can be in 1 eye a hero and for the other the villain. Let's say trump in this case. Isn't it better to just say politics and enforce that?

to threaten another player in order to obtain in-game favors or premium currency.
Where is the rule u can't use advertisement with real money? not clearly stated in this rule.
Also why not just let all premium stuff be account bound that nothing can be traded. so u won't have to enforce such a rule?

to impersonate a member of the team.
Clearly state the team. Atleast say the Game Moderation Team.

to insult players via the in-game communication system.
Invalid rule, because u have no say in outside communication sysyems, like discord. because u take no screenshots as evidence.
Even when it enforces rule 1. where ppl can attack others mentally.

Absolutely agree. Noob is allowed.

Why is noob considered to be respectful?

"Noob is widely used by gamers as an insult during games and in memes–and sometimes as self-deprecation. Gamers or folks steeped in internet culture also use noob as a general insult for a naive, foolish, or clumsy person. " - according to dictionary dot com

Noob is really a disrespectful slur designed by anyone who doesn't agree with how another player acts or plays the game. For example, if a cowboy's/cowgirl's wardrobe is chosen by a player not to give advantage in game play but because of personal style or whatever, then the player could be subjected to insults. Not that I personally would want to do anything about that because after all we all can't have the same viewpoints. By making note in the rules that the term "noob" is allowed however in my mind promotes the practice of using insults.

and also..

"A noob is thought of as having no respect for the rules and does not seem to want to do anything for himself. So noob has become an offensive term on the internet. To behave like a noob can mean getting disrespect and a lack of interest from other players. " according to simplewikipedia dot org

The use of noob can also apply to peer pressure which is really opinion based designed by a majority or loudest players who desire to have the game played a specific way. If a player is actually breaking rules, ignoring or in severe cases reporting would be more logical action than applying name labeling?

Since mentally harming is not allowed,
then the developers that came up with that duel the heck out of everyone [whether they want to be dueled or not] event we just suffered though should be removed from the game :p

lol, noob means inexperienced, ya njubs.
People (like yourself) have forgotten the origins of the term, a noob was someone who basically refused to learn or improve while blaming other players or game mechanics for their failings. Calling someone a noob is absolutely meant to be derogatory, whereas newb is more ... affectionate? :D

no one can duel players who strip naked, remove their protection and duel someone guaranteed to KO them ;)

if they choose to sit around in worker gear etc then ya know, welcome to the wild west where stickups will occur

There's plenty of things that can be used as insults - it doesn't mean that their core definitions are meant to be insulting, njub.

Being inexperienced is NOT an insult, we all have to start somewhere.

The game's been around for like 11 years and I doubt it had any new players in the past 6-7 years. While it's impossible to verify a player's age - I'm pretty sure nobody will get banned anytime soon because of being "too young" to play this.
Now that 16 age is being "enforced" (or everyone accepted to be over 16) could you stop giving penalty points for every single dumb reason since all players are accepted to be "adults" now?!
Or you could be respectful and don't swear. Being an adult has nothing to do with foul language.

The posts above gave me a headache, I expect all of you to be banned by the end of the week.

you're out of touch, new players are joining on a regular basis :D

there are certain other words that can be used in a friendly way now but originally had much more negative connotations, and those will definitely never be allowed. Most of the time noob is used as an insult not to highlight that a player is new and/or inexperienced in a friendly way. Nub or newb are the friendly ones.

I don't expect any game to ban the term but let's not pretend it isn't one of the worst allowable insults available
