Feedback Fort Battle Balancing Event

I'm mean...for real. It does seem like a concoction for deliberately blowing up the game. I'd don't see how for instance the worlds older that Las Veges will function except Colo. The rest will have such level disparity that what was already grinding to a halt will completely stop. What a mess.
I have a plan for using all the resources at my disposal to help Colorado find a post new levels balance—identifying a proposed alignment for new alliances and battle caps and fort levels—they can then opt to adopt those alliances or figure something else out for themselves based on the data I generate.

If this effort is successful I will offer this “service” to other worlds via a poll. At the end of the process (~2 weeks) they’ll get another poll on whether it should be adopted (particularly to cover the cap changes an fort levels) which if passed will hopefully encourage the proposed alliance to form.

Goober, forgive me for saying this, but you buggered up Colorado enough, Go find a new job, and let someone that can actually FF do your job. You took towers down to the point where we are bailing in again, every battle. You have ABOLUTELY NO CLUE how to ff, why are you in your position? You can't follow a lead, and you can't lead. Who decided you knew what is best for battles? You stuffed Colorado enough, go back to being just another noooooob.

I'm serious, I and many other have had enough of your meddling. Your sample size for every tweak is one battle, and you never take into account the randomness that is built into fort battles, You have never been to enough battles to even understand that, you are afk every time.

You want to break up one of the best towns on Colorado purely for your desire to keep that job with free nugs. You demand a reshuffle when none is needed, you are just looking for a way to justify a position where none is needed. Please, for the sake of the game, retire.

+1. It's enough of mandling and experimenting with battle settings every single fight to the point that winning a battle and belonging to alliance lose their purpose. And for @Syntex, I am not aware of any other CM besides you to give this amount of power to single player/mod with little to none oversight. And the fact that these gray zone decisions to interfere with alliance politics are done on worlds where mod/player actively plays (e.g. Colorado) should be avoided.

P.s. If I recall right, Goober's original mission was to help determine the starting numbers on each world to make attack and defense more balanced. It had nothing to do with downgrading built forts, dictating alliance policies, joining alliances and alliance only telegrams etc...

Its quite funny that a certain someone in the preceding post has a dig at Goober's idea to protect worlds from the people in it themselves, ill tell you what, being on both sides of the equation in alliances, some people do exist with a main character complex that want to lead alliances but end up leading the whole world into the ground with their policies.

I see nothing wrong if mods regulate that, far too many worlds have been left to the wise folk themselves and only Colorado has anything to show for it, i will always welcome someone who finally stands up from the mod team and gives us a rough outline of what alliances cannot do.

Blame balancing and Inno all you want, there are many worlds that got ruined not because of boogeyman inno but because of certain characters, why shouldnt the other 500-1000 players who play these worlds be insured against such people? half the reason why i didnt play vegas for the first few months was only because i saw who was leading the alliance, i had ATLEAST 25-30 other people who i spoke to who didnt play for the same reason and you know what? Vegas was even lower in activity than kansas 6 months after it started, HILARIOUS. If the mods can firewall that, what is the harm?
Been advocating for alliance regulation for years and i continue now, idk how Colo did it but it did, you have 20 other worlds that didnt.

foscock...what exactly are you talking about? fort fights on colorado never been better than this and goober played a big part in that

it's super disrespectful to say that to someone who gives lots of his free time to make things alright for other players
guess it was better when nobody was doing anything and we were getting attacks wiped in 30 rounds

If I understand you correctly, you preferred battles where attacks were wiped all killed? Why do you think defense should win 100% of the time?

Goober tried to just change fort numbers it did not help, attacks still got wiped out most of the time. That is where changing tower and wall levels came from.

I am sorry but I hated signing to attack knowing that I would not survive no matter what was done. The changes Goober did gave attacks a chance to survive at the very least if not actually mounting at some point.

Why attack for him for doing something?

Inno is not going to do anything to make things better, the update is proof. They released new levels and openly admitted they spent zero time testing the effects on fort battles, dueling, and adventures.

But hey Mr. Foscock, if you truly want to return to attacks being wiped out and no one wanting to lead because it was a setup to a slaughter then sure make Goober out to be a bad guy, that he is not.

Goober did indicate that other worlds were free to choose, so how about you and your alliance say no to him wasting his time to fix the mess on other worlds.

As for Colorado, Goober along with other player council members would be rearranging towns and players, it is the way of Colorado.

Also yes his original purpose was trying to balance with just numbers, but it was found that more was needed. So for example you hire a plumber to fix what seems to be a leaky pipe because you have water damage. But the plumber finds more issues than the leaky pipe contributing to the water damage, would you be satisfied if he fixed the leaky pipe but left you with the other issues, so therefore not fixing the original issue at all. Which Goober's goal was give attacks a chance and to reduce the amount of times attacks were wiped out completely before 50 rounds, which he has accomplished with downgrading towers but he did so with fort owners permission.

So if you don't want his help fine but Goober has enough players that like the changes or else he wouldn't have been allowed to downgrade forts to begin with.

Not everything in this game needs to be micromanaged and if changes are needed, then they should be coded and not left to whimps and subjective judgement of a single person. Also, half of this stuff which benefits some of you is actually not synced with the game and moderation rules.

Well, good thing he's just a strategist :) He try to find solutions for those issues what alliance leaders can not fix by their own hands, and I'm part of that team who ask favors like creating a 2 week long contest (which will be a huge data mine for everyone later), because colorado want to play good battles, not just battles.

So instead of blaming Goober, blame me for trying to fix the upcoming quality and lvl differences in Colorado, and maybe half of fort fighters wont dissapear from our server after this patch release.

Once someone said, not everyone playing on colo, so let us do what we want. 2 weeks later with the unlimited data you can decide what's better for your server, or you can keep the 90 veteran vs 40 newbies battles, where you dont have to bail from your towers during the battle.

Just a strategist clearly has an access to moderation tools and interfers with game mechanics as he sees fit with barely any oversight. He's not supposed to fullfill your wishes and requests that were not discussed with the rest of playerbase nor are synced with game rules.

The decision to consider Fort Level adjustments was a result of it becoming clear that, with the meta that prevailed at the time, the only caps that avoided a reliably easy win for the defense were to severely restrict the number of defenders such that even onliners would be frequently left out while attacks required heavy recruiting to barely fill. Reducing the towers successfully allowed for caps that substantially reduced the defenders being left out and the recruitment efforts necessary to fill attacks.

In each and every case the towers were reduced, it was at the express request (via a support ticket) of someone other than me. At all times the fort owners remain free to rebuild the towers as their sole discretion.

What is annoying is that same rules don´t apply for everyone and it´s enough to request something from a "specialist" friend like mentioned above.

what "friend"?

everything is perfect on this game regarding rules...everyone respects em, mods enforce all the rules, events are not rigged, nobody has multi accounts, nobody uses bots, nobody does illegal trading, no pushing, no nothing.

this whatever imaginary "irregularity" was what was bothering YOU...out of all people  cuz you always respected the rules...........................
play on colorado and see what happens there and then you can start claiming people request whatever you're talking about there

FWIW the missing context here would likely be the intervention I took on las vegas awhile back to attempt to normalize some back and forth in the battles there after a long pattern of borderline abusive battles.

You do realize that Lyrinx is a leader and in some ways a mouth piece of his alliance, so when he reaches out to Goober he is doing so in the service of the players. There are probably many players on both sides that have expressed their concerns since level cap was announced, so Goober is probably getting concerns from many places. So while Lyrinx may have given him an idea of how to maybe test the new waters, does not mean Goober choice was made from one conversation or from one player's concern.

If you don't want or need his help, then that is fine, but some of us appreciate his efforts to buy the fort fighting community time.

Wait on inno to fix things in the code, that sounds like 5 years of unplayable fort battles, I think I will pass on waiting for inno to do something right for once.

Once again 100% of topic and please feel free to delete.
