Technically someone could settle a town right next to them, but it wouldn't have a hotel at first anyway, and they probably wouldn't bother traipising(spelling sucks) across the world just to settle next to you.
Do what I did, walk across the world to the nearest town with a hotel, and just stay near there.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if your a member of a town, that means free hotel room right?
