Hillel heard the all clear from the medic, and shrugged herself out of her gear and hazmat suit. She noted the rest were leaving their suits, so opted to do the same. She idly wondered if this was the fatal flaw in the mission. Other less specialized teams had investigated here, never to be heard from again. She would guess they too probably started taking protective gear as precautionary measures. Maybe they removed the gear, only to be stricken down by some not yet known chemical agent or virus.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a whispering and she glanced over at Kurt. She quickly studied his face, noting the grin, and did not return it. She nodded, and gave a thumbs up to his question. Hillel then looked over her shoulder as Kurt called out a structure to investigate. She stowed her suit behind the cover she'd taken, and heard her orders to move out.
She slung her gear back on, and being ever mindful of noise discipline in her job, tightened down everything that rattled, shook, or clinked. She glanced around at the team, noted they were all prepared, and moved out from her cover. The structure was maybe half a click, but it was all open space on the approach. She hunkered down, keeping her SMG in the low ready position, as she weaved her way back and forth in the direction of the structure. She decided not to do the precautionary pauses that her training was screaming at her to do internally, because if she was to become involved in a fire fight, she and whomever had fallen in behind her would be sitting ducks. She still found the lack of all noise, other than the team behind her, to be very disconcerting. She stopped near a small stone wall, and sank behind it. She edged along its length to the end, pulled out a monocular, and began scanning the area of the building and openings. She whispered, "No contact on the main structure. There's an out building on the other side, which appears to be secured by a padlock. Awaiting orders..."
