doing all jobs (revised)

I'm surprised it's 0 leadership and only 19 SP in shooting, two staples of all old jobs builds, but I guess shooting isn't necessary since so many old jobs are also appearance, and appearance is better for new jobs, especially Buffalo Bill. Some of those jobs seem a bit dangerous to do with low LP. Break up gangs at 99% danger with 1 LP?

DeletedUser22493

This is my one. Just didi reskill yesterday, finishing Waupees quests now :) Have 7 jobs left to do excluding 12Ap reward, will have 2 jobs remaining aftewards.

Your 120 right?

DeletedUser

Yes, female, soldier, all quests finished, used AP/SP (149/394), that's including Animal spirits quest lines with 12 AP reward. Got Golden set, but no other rare weapons or items which would have much influence on final result.

DeletedUser

When you have the gold set, no other weapon can beat it's +LP.
That includes the holy trumpet which can bring on some jobs 6*4=24 LP.
Only 24 LP... This "only" is important. ;)

Ich bin ein Berliner -- nicht!

The German forum. This thread to be specific.

For those who are wondering, the exact page you want is http://forum.the-west.de/showpost.php?p=575384&postcount=753.

No offense, but that really isn't much help. Firstly, most users here don't know German. Second, translation programs are useless when the text we need most is part of a graphic file, so there's no way to just highlight the text for copying/pasting into a translator. Lastly, translation programs are often as frustratingly useless as they are helpful, especially when trying to translate a post made by someone using a lot of netspeak (AYBBTU) who also frequently misspells words and violates his own language's rules of grammar.

In this case, you do end up with a graphic showing AP and SP distribution, but like most such build examples, this only tells you how to end up at the level cap, not how to get there. For an old build that includes both, http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&tt=url&intl=1&fr=bf-home&trurl=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.the-west.de%2Fshowpost.php%3Fp%3D227094%26postcount%3D62&lp=de_en&btnTrUrl=Translate might be of some use.

Of course, the devblog indicates that there will be a revision of all jobs' LP with the next update, so no matter what "all jobs build" you may try to go with, it's likely to be nullified by the next subsequent update before you reach the "all jobs" level of said particular build.

I could translate the entire graph, but I don't think it'll help much.

By the way, Mickey did include a way to get there, it's explained under "Skillreihenfolge". While this may not be of use to people who do not know German, it might be of use to those who do.

Feh.

By the way, Mickey did include a way to get there, it's explained under "Skillreihenfolge". While this may not be of use to people who do not know German, it might be of use to those who do.

Which was kind of my point -- in other words, it's useful to about maybe 1% of this forum's usual users (I'm guessing most people who can speak German are probably native speakers and are playing the game on the German servers, and thus are already aware of the German forum.) I figured the text was probably what explained the path -- after all, what else would he likely be going on about at such length about, lol -- but I guess I must just be too lazy to take the time to type it all into a translator program by hand (or too lazy to learn German).

I could translate the entire graph, but meh.

And I just wanted you to know that I could put this rope within your reach to help you pull yourself out of that quicksand, but meh....

Oh well, I'll translate it then. Do note that I did not translate it word for word or something, I just translated the core of the sentences.

Refer to this image to see where the numbers are in the original image.

Contents:
[jumpto=one]1.[/jumpto]
[jumpto=two]2.[/jumpto]
[jumpto=three]3.[/jumpto]
[jumpto=four]4.[/jumpto]
[jumpto=five]5.[/jumpto]

[jumpfrom]one[/jumpfrom]1.
Skill order

1. Strength and building until you've reached the desired skill level.
2. Charisma and appearance until appearance has the desired amount.
3. Hiding and charisma until hiding is 50.
4. Stamina and charisma until stamina is 50.
5. Shooting and charisma until charisma is full, after that shooting and dexterity.
6. When shooting is as desired, keep skilling dexterity. After that, hiding until 100 and mobility.
7. Stamina until 80, and then you can skill the rest of the points in your own order.
8. Repairing and horseback riding at the end, together with the final attributes, because they are not that important. Horseback riding is needed to do buffalo bill sooner though.

[jumpfrom]two[/jumpfrom]2.
Tips for dealing with the skills.
  • Preferred character class: Adventurer, as you can profit from the drop advantages a lot as quester.
  • Preferred crafting profession: Field cook. That way, you can craft the gentleman's dinner yourself and do not depend on other players to do it for you.
  • Quick experience points can be gained by fort battles.
  • Keep your dueling level low, so the better duelers will not attack you.
  • Do quests until level 15. After that, use jobs to gain experience points and only do quests when they are useful (Mike & Jenny, Ghost town, Blind eagle, etc.)
  • For the animal spirits quests, you will need to temporarily change some attributes. This should not cause a problem if you follow the skill order and have not reskilled a lot in the past.
  • At around level 80, it can become boring. Definitely do some fort battles and the 1.31 questlines, as they provide an extreme amount of experience.
[jumpfrom]three[/jumpfrom]3.
Indispensable items
  • Gentleman set
  • Indian set
  • Mexican set
  • Pilgrim set
  • Charlatan set
  • Grey, green, black and fancy pistol belt
  • Fancy jeans, fancy leather pants, fancy soft legguards, fancy legguards, black army pants
  • Proper dueling clothing
  • Proper fortbattle clothing
When you have these clothes, you will have the best clothes for most of the jobs. In order to really get the maximum amount of labor points, you will need other some things as well. You can use most of the clothes from the old all jobs build, or select them using weststats and such.

[jumpfrom]four[/jumpfrom]4.
Random info (no original title)
  • Jobs are sorted on LP, descending.
  • With a gentleman's dinner, you will get 60 labor points, with cakes you will get 15. 4 jobs are only usable with the gentleman's dinner, and 3 with cakes. The ones doable with the cakes are obviously also doable with the dinner.
  • Halfway through, you will have reasonable duel skills due to high appearance and shooting.
  • You will also be good at fortbattles due to points on mobility and strength.
  • Advantages compared to other all jobs builds:
    • You will be fairly good at duels.
    • You will be better at fort battles, with even more dodging.
    • Because of the strength attribute, you will have some more hp.
    • Horseback riding will speed up your character.
  • Disadvantages compared to other all jobs builds:
    • Building and repairing are necessary in this build, but do not have any other uses.
    • It depends on the new character buffs. The golden gun is not necessary, because you can do the hardest jobs without it using a slight skill variation.

[jumpfrom]five[/jumpfrom]5.
Afterword

Nothing really interesting is said here, just that he's happy to have 'cracked' the build, and that the newly implemented set bonuses from 1.31 are not used in the calculation.

Many thanks to Slygoxx for the translation. As a brand new player, I have some questions.

"1.
Skill order

1. Strength and building until you've reached the maximum skill level.
2. Charisma and appearance until appearance is full."

What is the maximum skill level? Also, is there a cap on the levels your character can reach in the game, or is it indefinite? I'm just at level 16, & wondering if there is really any point to redistributing points, or if it will just take a little longer to follow the guide.

DeletedUser

I assume by maximum and full he's referring to the targets he has posted for the final build, but I haven't looked at it.

Maximum skill level is indeed the amount of point used in the final build, will change it to desired skill level.
There is a cap on your level, which is 120.

Hey guys, here's Micky ^^

I just read this thread a few minutes ago and there were some things, that I have to mention about this huuuuuge skillpicture I published.

At first: one work I missed in the table is "Picking Indigo". I added it later on to my calcs and there I had to recognize, that it wouldn't be able with this build. Nevertheless I've changed the skill a bit, so that really everything is able to do, furthermore I used some new "maximum-ap-by-clothes"-values.

All in all, here are the results:

http://www.abload.de/img/skill_neuzubl.png
(the red works are "Free Slaves", "Picking Indigo", "Mine lead", "Rob a bank" and "Build up a casino; the buff-boni are not included in these values)

2 days ago, we noticed a further mistake with the calculations of the "maximum-ap-by-clothes"-values. Therefore those works, where you need more than 3 components of the indianset, would have a little bit more labourpoints than you can see in the table above.

----

An alternative skill by the german player scoobydoo is this one:
http://img864.imageshack.us/img864/6171/skillt.jpg

Using this skill, you'd be bad at fortbattles, duels etc. - even worse than with the other skill ^^

But therefore you wouldn't need gentleman's dinner because there are only 5 works with less than 0 labour points:
- Free Slaves (-2 labour points)
- Buffalo Bill (-2 labour points)
- Rodeo (-7 labour points)
- Rare gemstones (-8 labour points)
- Rob a bank (-13 labour points)

As there is no work with less than -15 labour points, slices of cakes would be sufficent for this skill as well.

---

It is in your hand, which skill you want to use. A skill where you are good at fortbattles (and duels a bit), too or just a skill for pure working.

I had one all old-jobs build that's a bit out of whack atm from respecs for the strength and mobility Animal Spirits quests and the Circus quests, none of the latter requiring respeccing more than 20 SP. I'm not respeccing to a most jobs build until I know what repercussions this will have:

The final notable change will be a rebalancing of clothing items, as the strength of regular items and pants & belts is a tad off at present.

I got this on mys sk4 character.

I'm happy with that. Don't need more. However if they add/update some items stats, maybe then will look for other combination. Those 2 jobs are White water transport -8LP and Organize a rodeo -86LP

Hey Micky, did you include in your calculations the attributes from animal spirits?

Of course he did. 147 AP includes all known quests with AP rewards.

What I don't know is where those other 2 SP came from. I have 405 on one world where I've done all AP/SP quests I know of, and only 404 on another world where I've done all known quests besides the GG. Did Heading into a new adventure (The first job) have the SP reward added when the quests were fixed in 1.31? That was the only place I did it when it was first added.

Yes, the differences came from this quest series. Right now, you can get 3 SP from it and I just did it after 1.31 released.

Whoa! This is a whole lotta content going into these skill and attribute builds for doing all these jobs. So, most of the jobs can be done with just the right clothes, the skills, and the attributes, right? Or would some of them need skill buffs (Such as this Gentleman's Dinner everyone keeps mentioning)?
