i'd prefer that it was true, that dueling lvl DID go down when you lose duels...these dueling lvls are an imbalance, where low lvl duelers, who duel too much become vulnerable to high lvl duelers

dueling should be determined by lvl alone!

Low level duelers cause the problem by letting their duel level go up. No one says you have to duel that much. Either duel less, or duel much more and drop your motivation. Using dueling level may cause some problems at low levels, but at high levels it makes it in your best interest to duel duelers instead of non-duelers XP wise, because you run out of character levels but duel levels keep going up.
