These things happen quite rarely, you are acting as if you'd have lost something of value. In real life, sometimes airplanes are a bit late, or the buses are in late, you cannot get to the meeting with your lover because of an road accident and so on. No-one can plan for everything, sure it's inconvenient but we have to accept them.

For what is worth, I think you are making a whole lot of fuss for nothing, but on the other hand, I'm sorry you had this inconvenience and hope it will not happen to you again.
