adventurers joining towns

DeletedUser

Hi everybody! I am a relatively new player. This is my first character (funkenmittens on world 10) and I am currently level 11, pure hider adventurer. I'm hunting turkey 'till my eyes bleed.

My question has to do with joining a town. I see a lot of ads for duelers/builders/soldiers . . . not so many trolling for adventurers. Do most adventurers stay out of towns altogether, or simply request shopping invites? Or do they just join at higher levels when they can help more in fort battles?

Thanks everybody!

EDIT: What is the proper etiquette for requesting a shopping invite? % tip left in the town's coffers?

send a telegram asking for a shopping pass, and how much it costs. some towns have a set price, some just want you to leave what you can.

Adventurers are the best earners for towns. You've picked a good spec for it, as hiders are great earners, but not until higher levels. You'll start earning when you get stealing horses but won't become a great earner until ambush and burglary. They don't get enough respect as duelers because their class advantages aren't specifically suited towards dueling besides free camping. I think the big reason they aren't generally actively recruited because there are just so many of them.

I think that adventurer is a better choice for duelers then the dueling class is. The benefits of the adventure class outweigh those of the dueler class if you intend to do any jobs at all.

The motivation boost duelers get is great, but once the world start maturing you can't duel more then a few people in a town at a time anyways due to levels and HP. So basically you won't run out of motivation anyways. The map speed boost is a nice to have, but really, a minute or two here or there really don't matter much as the game is play and wait. The extra money from duels is more then offset in the extra items & products that adventures find. So in all, you just spec you skills for dueling an adventure makes a great dueler.

We would definitely recruit adventurers, it makes a huge difference to have plenty of cash in the town treasury!
I think it depends on the individual whether to join a town or not. I personally like belonging to a town because I like the interaction in the town forums etc and that's a big aspect of the game. If you are just out there on your own doing jobs it can get lonely and boring quite quickly.

Yes, it's a little lonely, however I figured on the character being slow on startup. I figured, actually, that I'd be in the minority, and that more people would be pure duelers . . . I'll wait until I become a good wage earner, then look for a town to help out with (plus there's always fort battles!)

I'm not specced for dueling. Why would I hang around town just to get dueled when I don't need a town?

Correct me if I'm wrong Elmyr, but by belonging to a town with a big fort, won't you be able to get the most energy when sleeping? I joined a town specifically for that, this somewhat helps me keep up with the soldiers/adventurers with the good exp jobs(toughness sucks:sad:).

The thing is:

Adventurer if is not dueling, is awesome to do jobs. They usualy focus more on jobs and get awesome xp and money jobs.

After some lvls(like 50), if he respects to duel, he will lvl up on a incredible speed only dueling.

Adventurer > soldier or dueler, or they two togheter

like i said in some where on the forum, i still think adventurer bonus is a bit unreal, but if they are real, they are way cooler than dueler but.... still a bit lower than solider in duel

adventurers entering town is like the whole of the annual cattle drive coming in. But they have money.....

The Main Use...

The main use for Adventurers being in a town is the money they contribute. They don't construct buildings, not all are legendary at dueling, but they bring in a lot of money into the town treasury. Pure Trappers espeacially with their hunting will bring in extreme amounts of money. So will pure Hiders and Traders.

Yep, I have a trapper - adventurer. You get up to good jobs quickly, and once you hit hunting wolves and bears you have access to really good experience jobs. After that stealing horses starts bringing in the money and you can look at becoming a shooting specialist. OK I'm not going to get much out of the shooting skills for a while but I'm leveling up with hunting bears and hunting wolves anyway. I'm also starting to hit hard at anyone who attacks me. Later on once my shooting is high enough to get access to the good jobs I can respec the trapping points to fighting and I will be a tough fighter and probably many levels beyond the soldiers and duellers.
