Dear players,

We are seeing increasing attempts to breach forum accounts of players.
To keep your accounts secure, please ensure to use a secure password, the formulas of a secure password:

Random option:
  • 14 characters
  • letters (capital- and lowercase)
  • symbols
  • numbers

Dice ware/phrase-method:
  • containing at least 4 random words (The average length of each word should be minimum 4.2 characters.)
  • separated by symbol

For your forum accounts, you should also enable 2-Factor Authentication, which you can do here: https://forum.the-west.net/index.php?account/security

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security that requires users to provide a second form of verification in addition to their password when logging in. This means that even if someone else gets ahold of your password, they will not be able to access your account without the second form of verification.
By enabling 2FA, you are not only protecting yourself, but also helping to protect the entire community. With so many people relying on our forum, it’s crucial that we all do our part to keep it secure.

Enabling 2FA is easy and can be done in just a few simple steps. Once you’ve enabled it, you’ll be prompted to enter a code every time you log in.
We understand that some of you may find this process a bit inconvenient, but the added security is well worth it. If you have any questions or need help enabling 2FA, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Let’s work together to keep our forum secure for everyone.

Thank you for your cooperation!
