Christmas cake: would be the longest for needing to be tended to in order to have it ready for Christmas as alcohol needs to be added to it every other week to help age it.
"'It’s best to get baking around two or three months before Christmas. This gives you plenty of time to let it mature and 'feed' your Christmas Cake regularly as the big day approaches...feed it with rum, brandy or sherry...The basic baking time is around 4 hours," (1) "prick the surface of the cake with a toothpick or skewer and slowly pour over 2 to 3 tablespoons brandy. Repeat this feeding every two weeks up until Christmas." (2)

Christmas pudding: This would be the dish that can be prepared furthest in advance for Christmas as it can be made and left to mature on its own for up to two years, possibly more, prior to serving.
"Creating your Christmas pudding months ahead is a festive tradition. It only needs steaming for a few hours on Christmas Day until reheated." (1) "Some Christmas puddings, made with dried fruit in the traditional way, are fine to be eaten even two years after they were made." (2) "Once the pudding is cooked...The pudding can be stored for up to two years in a cool, dry place. To serve, reheat the pudding by steaming...for two hours, or until hot all the way through." (3)

Howdy Cowboys and Cowgirls,

The evaluation of game 14 is complete

Answer: Winning the award for longest preparation time, Greenland’s traditional Christmas dish, kiviak, takes a full seven months to prepare. It begins with hollowing out a seal skin and stuffing it with 500 auks– a sea bird (feathers and all)– to ferment. When the holiday rolls around, it’s served straight from the seal.

Howdy ! I consider that to this answer, the cake or the cake is correct, because we are referring to a preparation made then, otherwise the longest could be for some sausages or certain steaks that are marinated ... 1-2-3 days ... .meat marinated, dried and smoked that would last a long time. A dish that can be found in all countries and cultures with a long duration is the cake or cake.
