New Character Classes

Proposal:
Adding new character classes and/or an unlocking bonuses system to improve The-West in the future and bring diversity to new worlds.

--------------------------

New/different character class options:
With the present worlds, the 4 choices are Adventurer, Dueler, Worker, and Soldier. Those four classes can be used interchangeably with new classes for future worlds, or their can be worlds with just the new classes, and no old ones.

Here are 4 new/different classes that I’m thinking of.
It's currently set up for unlocking more bonuses as players level up. This would encourage players to continue playing to achieve those extra bonuses. However, if unlocking more bonuses won't be feasible to implement, then each class can be changed back to normal with 4 bonuses by using the lvl 20 bonus as the forth one.

Fort Specialist
Advantages:
The chance to find a product by surviving in a battle is increased by 10%.
The earned experienced for a fort battle is increased by 10%.
The level needed to use a fort weapon is lowered by 5 levels.

Additional Bonuses:
Level 20: You receive 10 extra bonus points for battles.
Level 60: The time to travel to a fort is reduced by 25%.
Level 80: You receive a 5% increase to all 5 of your battle skills.

Avatars: Cannoneer, Gunslinger, Patriot, Rifleman/woman

Native American
Advantages:
The chance to find a product when working a job is increased by 10%.
The earned experience points for a job are increased by 5%.
The speed on the map is increased by 20%.

Additional Bonuses:
Level 20: The timer to rejoin a town is reduced by 20%.
Level 60: The cost to buy town items is reduced by 10%
Level 80: You receive no cost penalty to buy items from other towns.

Avatars: Chief, Craftsman/Craftswoman, Hunter/Huntress, Warrior

Ranger
Advantages:
The motivation for dueling rises 10% faster.
The level needed to use a weapon is lowered by 3 levels.
You receive 20% more money from a duel.

Additional Bonuses:
Level 20: In duels, you receive a bonus of 10% to your Aim skill.
Level 60: In duels, you receive a bonus of 10% to your Dodging skill.
Level 80: You receive 5% more experience from winning a duel.

Avatars: General, Captain, Major, Sergeant

Pioneer
Advantages:
The motivation for jobs rises 10% faster.
You receive 5% more money while working a job.
The speed on the map is increased by 20%.

Additional Bonuses:
Level 20: The labor points required to perform any job is reduced by 5 points.
Level 60: You may sleep in foreign hotels for free until level 3. (For premium users, level 5)
Level 80: The cost of shifting attribute and skill points decreases 25% faster.

Avatars: Explorer, Miner, Marshall, Outlaw

Mock-Up

Conclusion:
Many players quit/leave the-west for various reasons, but it's no secret there are countless players are step away from the game simply because the daily game schedule becomes tedious, with the redundancy of queuing up the same jobs, dueling the same players, experiencing the same features, etc. every day. In the future, a diverse array of settings/features for new worlds may bring more attention and interest to The-West. Excitement for these new additions may cause players to actively join and populate new worlds.

Here are a couple of new/different classes that I’m thinking of. A mix of current classes would be interesting as well. (The class names can be changed):

Fort Specialist
Advantages:
The chance to find a product by surviving increases by 10%.
The earned experienced for a fort battle is increased by 5%.
You receive 5 extra bonus points for battles.
The level needed to use a fort weapon is lowered by 5 levels.

Native American (Mix between all classes)
Advantages:
The chance to find a product when working a job is increased by 10%.
The speed on the map is increased by 10%.
You can deposit 20% more into your bank account.
For each skill point given to the skill health points, you receive an additional 5 health points.

Army Staff (Mix between dueler/soldier):
Advantages:
The motivation for dueling rises 10% faster.
You receive 10% more money in a duel.
The level needed to use a weapon is lowered by 3 levels.
For each skill point given to the skill health points you receive an additional 5 health points.
Very great ideas. I espessialy like the army staff and native american. If you have like photoshop or something maybe you could give us some examples of what kind of avatars we would be looking at?

I would love to, but I do not have photoshop. It would be awesome if someone else could make some avatars.

The Army staff, is it too good?

yea...perhaps...i don't know. I avoided putting in the tactics bonus because that would just be way too good. Maybe could change the 10% more money to the 10% more speed on the map.... I would really just like to see a "real" class for duelers. The current dueler class is so underpowered, that everyone picks soldier.

I don't like the general categorical names, so if anyone has any ideas for the class name, please post.

I have no objections to this idea. By all means, implement.

Perhaps the names for the character portraits we have now could be used.

I was really hoping for some discussion and much more feedback with this...

I think an idea like this is reasonable for the future.

The new character classes are obviously the main focus...

yup i like this idea.. would mean more amount of people playing different worlds, to get a feel of that world..

On that note however i dont like the idea of a ghost town. would mean reducing the value of the builder class.. as it is after a few towns you have the builder class re-speccing. maybe something so that the builder needs those construction points..
OR
these specialized worlds need not have any builder class, which would result in the soldiers and other classes doing the building. (like those pre-set town settings)

It think we can merge this idea with the research Mark II = in the sense have the research mark ii in a few worlds.

You could also add a premium only faster worlds where you could set a game goal would be to reach a certain level or attain a certain ranking in a given time frame.

Native American
Why give extra 5 health points to the native american class?
You could replace that with 5% more damage with melee class weapons

the ghost town option is a very minor idea...could have them, could eliminate them, I don't care. All part of the concept of different setting for new worlds! It wouldn't eliminate the purpose of builders very much, even if there are growing ghost towns, they'd stop growing say at max 10000 points, which still requires lots of construction.

I wouldn't mind a world with no builders. no more of those whining threads everywhere :) Melee players could be forced to construct towns, but so what. i'm doing that in world 1 right now. new items like my pants idea would give construction bonuses. ;) Players don't really need a "worker" character class to do construction, so having players put pts into construction without the class bonuses isn't a huge hindrance to construction.

A "speed" world could be possible, but i'll give that to Justin Michael who suggested it in his thread. I was thinking about it, but I just decided to stick with "faster" worlds for my idea.

and the native american class being given 5% more damage would make the class way too good.

Update: I have come up with avatar names, but have no means of making them. So I'm trying to find players who would be willing to help out. If anyone who reads this, likes this idea, and has Photoshop or something, and would be interested in making some avatars, please let me know. The first post has been updated with avatar names.

The army staff is perfect :D

Name changed to Army Combatant because it just sounds better. I'm an adventurer, I'm a worker, I'm an Army Staff (Doesn't sound right)

In future worlds, I would like to see the Army Combatant Class and no dueler or soldier classes and have just one class option for dueling. I made a change to it. Instead of the HP bonus, I gave it a small aim bonus.

DeletedUser

yer new dueller class, also why not have a mix between adventurer and dueler, called rougue or something,

lv 2 hotel free,
+10 speed
+ 10% money in jobs AND duelling

DeletedUser

I suppose, but I think introducing 4 new classes is enough. If I add your rogue class, then there's gonna be people suggesting a worker/adventurer mix, a soldier/adventurer mix, a worker/soldier mix, a dueler/worker mix.

My Army Combatant Class combines the dueler and soldier classes because we don't need 2 classes geared towards dueling with one being tremendously underpowered compared to the other. I also changed it enough that it's not an exact mix-match. I think my Native American class, which takes 1 advantage from each class is a balanced one.

Anyway, about the avatars, I have received word that some will be made shortly.

hello i think too it's a good idea to work on several class more in the game...

i've think at 'bandit' or 'desperado' with more job like 'attack the bank' or 'attack (diligence in french, i don't know the translation in english sorry) for exemple

and officy a class of 'sherif' too for exemple....

add more class and some jobs , add a good strategy in this fantastic game
